Activities
IV. PROCEDURES
A. Introduction What I need to know?
 The content of the lesson will be presented.
 The objectives of the lesson will also be presented.
What’s new?
 The learner will answer the activity: Warm UP
 The learner will follow the rule to complete the table.
 The learner will replace the corresponding value of x in the first
column to the rule in the second column then perform the indicated
operation.

X Rule Answer
2 2x
-6 x 2+ 1
18 3 x−1
9 √x
A x +2
 For online, they can write their answers on the chat box of the
platform being used, while the modular will be writing their answer
on the activity sheet.

What I know?
 The learner will be asked to check their answers on the key page of
their activity sheets
 The learner needs to answer the table on their activity sheets.
What’s in?
Evaluating a function means replacing the variable in the function, in
this case x, with a value from the functions domain and computing for
the result. To denote that we are evaluating f at a for some a in the
domain of f , we write f (a).
1. Evaluate the given function using the values on each item.
4
Given: d ( s )=
s
a. f (1)
b. f (2)
c. f (2 x )
d. f (−1)
e. f (1/2)
C. Development
 The learner will answer the activity.
 The learner can seek assistance to their guardian.
What is it?
Activity 1
 The learner will be asked to answer the activity:
Evaluate the function using the values on each item.
Given f ( x )=x +2
1. f (0)
2. f (−1)
3. f (3)
4. f (3 x)
5. f (x+ 1)

Activity 2
 The learner will be asked to further explore for examples by opening
Youtube or other resource site for videos and examples while doing
the task.
 The learners may also copy the link
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PBimjTtsJQY
F. Engagement What’s more?
 Independent practice.
 The learner will use the exercises that are included in the module.
What I can do?
 The learner will answer the activity. They will complete the table and
answer the questions that follows.
 Snacks
Sally and Leona started selling snacks in a canteen nearby school. In a
day, they share to spend P300 for the rent and P20 for each snack item
they prepare. Their expenses a day can be expressed as the function
C ( x )=20 x +300, where x is the number of items and C ( x ) is the
daily expenses in peso.
 Complete the table of the expenses within five days.

No. of Snack Packs Expenses
Day 1: 100
Day 2: 150
Day 3: 180
Day 4: 200
Day 5: 215
Answer this:
1. How much is Sally’s share to the expenses?
2. How much is their total expenses within five days?
3. How helpful is it for them to evaluate their expenses?
 The output will be put in the learner’s portfolio after.
What other enrichment activities can I engaged in? (Additional
Activities)

What I have learned?

 My Style
The learner will do the activity:
1. The learner will be giving one example of a function.
2. Using any value, the learner will evaluate the function.
I. Assimilation 3. In three to five sentences, the learner will narrate or discuss the
process on how to evaluate the function that he/she has given.

What I can do? (Assessment)

The learner will be asked to answer the Activity Sheets given.
Evaluate each function using the indicated values.
1. The learners, in their notebook, journal or portfolio will write
their personal insights about the lesson using the prompts below.
