THIS HAND OVER NOTE INCLUDED WITH INVENTORY OF STORES & SPARE, PMS AND TOOL’S LIST OF MEASUREMENT.

HERE I AM STATING ABOUT ENGINE ROOM ALL MACHINARIES GENERAL STATUS


AND YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS A SECOND ENGINEER THAT WOULD GIVE YOU A
GUIDE LINE FOR YOUR PLEASANT STAY ON BOARD. FOR DETAILS ABOUT ALL
MACHINARIES PLEASE GO THROUGH PLANNED MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE (PMS).
YOU WILL ALSO FIND YOUR DUTIES IN COMPANY ISM MANUAL

MAIN ENGINE
The Main Engine is KAWASAKI-MAN B&W 6S50ME-B 9.5. The performance of the Main Engine is
satisfactory. With full sea load max exhaust temp is about 320°C and all other parameters are within
limit.

Please note followings for details about M/E

► Maneuvering is carried out from bridge.


► At sea M/E rpm maintained as per office instruction 76to 82 Rpm.
► Jacket temp is maintained 750C. Controlled by controller.
► F.O. temp is maintained 650C to maintain viscosity by viscosity controller. Normally maneuvering
is carried out on VLSFO.
► T/C turbine side grid wash carried out at every after one day.
► All parameters are followed from C/R monitor and locally.
► At port keep M/E jacket temp above 70°C.
► All spare parts as per inventory list & only shipyard supply & arranged in spare store behind of
engine control room.
► Avoid blow throw individual cylinder during running condition because of malfunctioning PMI
sensor.

► HPS pump to keep in leading mode as per demand of maintain hydraulic pressure, whenever
required two pump to be running.
► Month end running hours taking from PMI computer monitor of performance sheet.
► Special tools for overhauling kept in proper place.
N:B : Sea water slowly ingress in stern tube aft sealing tank., arranged segregate system to separate
continuous water from oil.

D/G’S PERFORMANCE
3 sets Aux. Engines, working satisfactory as per ships sea trial service & maintained properly maker
instruction. All spare only ship yard supply.
All Aux. engine fuel injector pressure tested as per same fuel valve & performance satisfactory.
Aux. eng. No.1 main fuel suction v/v malfunctioning. It’s to be changed depend on as per spare
supply.

MAIN AIR COMPRESSOR


► Both Air compressors performance are satisfactory.
► Both are checked first & 2nd stage suction discharged V/V.

PURIFIER
► There are two H.F.O. purifiers, one Main L.O. purifier & one Aux. L.O. Purifier & one D.O purifier.
► All purifiers are operational.
► Aux L.O. purifier is operated for A/E sump to sump.

PUMP
► All pumps general condition is good.
► All sea water P/P’s are mechanical seal type, at Chittagong need extra care to prevent leakage.
► It’s recommended for extra fresh water cooling arrangement to prevent damage of mechanical
seal & ingress of muddy water.

FRESH WATER GENERATOR


► Present capacity is 20 tons.
► Working satisfactory.
► Whenever fresh water generator is running main engine cooling F.W. three way control V/V
switch keep in auto mode.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT

All the safety equipment must be tested as per the schedule and must be logged in the Em’cy
equipment test report/Saturday routine book. All safety equipments are in good working condition.

1. EMERGENCY FIRE PUMP:

► It is electric motor driven, situated in steering gear room & in very good condition.

2. LIFE BOAT ENGINE:

► L/Boat engines are good & start with single try. They are battery starter.
► Rescue boat engine condition is very good.

4. EMERGENCY GENERATOR:

► Em’cy gen condition is very good. Automatically takes load in case of black out.

5. FUNNEL FLAPS (FIRE DAMPER) & E/R BLOWER FLAPS:

► They are all greased & in good working condition.


► During loading & discharging put air filter on E/R blower suction to avoid dirt ingress in to E/R.
6. SEWAGE PLANT:

► Sewage plant is good. Chlorine tablets are available.


► Discharge p/p is operated in auto mode.
► Air blower motor suddenly showing mega ohm nil. It’s varnished but not improves. So it has sent
to shore repair.

7. OILY WATER SEPARATOR:

► O.W.S. is in good & PSC pass condition.


► Filter to be cleaned regularly.
► 15 PPM alarm in good condition. Regularly alarm to try out and operation of three-way valve
must be confirmed.

8. INCINERATOR:

► The incinerator is in good working condition.


► All alarms and trips are working.
► Engine room oily rags are burnt regularly.
► Normally sludge is burned in incinerator.
► Incinerator to be regularly tried out.

9. OIL MIST DETECTOR

► Working satisfactorily. OMD alarm tried out at regular interval without any disturbances.

10. EMERGENCY BATTERY:

► Operation of emergency battery is satisfactory.

11. FIXED CO2 DISCHARGE SYSTEM:

► Fixed CO2 discharge system provided for engine room & cargo holds.
► This is regularly checked & tested for safe operation.

12. QUICK CLOSING VALVES:

► All quick closing valves are in good working condition.

13.FIRE DETECTION SYSTEM:

► Working satisfactorily. Fire detectors are tested on the weekly basis as per routine in such a way
that all detectors are tested in every three months.
► Working satisfactory.

15.EMERGENCY STOP SWITCHES:

► Operation is satisfactory

16. LSA & FFA EQUIPMENTS:

► All LSA & FFA equipments are in good working condition. E/R all equipments are checked by 4 th
engineer.
► 3rd officer is responsible to maintain all LSA & FFA equipments.

17. PSC INSPECTION:

► Last PSC inspection held at Santos. So vessel is normally trading CTG to SANTOS.

SPARE AND STORE INVENTORY

► All machineries spare/store inventory including electrical updated.

SPARE AND STORE REQUISITION

► All spare and store requisitions raised by me are nicely maintained in separate filing system.
► Invoices and received copies are maintained in designated file.

HEAT EXCHANGER

All heat exchanger need to back flush.


Whenever fresh water generator is running main engine cooling F.W three way control V/V switch keep
in auto mode.

DECK MACHINIRIES.
Mooring winch, windlass & hatch cover operation are included with same P/p, these are in steering gear
room, normally operation carried by engine stuff. Operation smooth & sound proof with take care of
lube oil temperature.

DECK CRANE

Number of 4 Nos deck crane is good operational condition without trouble free. Vessel trading area port
CTG & Santos from after taking over. So crane is to use in CTG anchorage. Before arrival checked all of
these by electrical engineer with the help of other’s. Cleaning schedule both party (deck & engine) is
involved.

ACCOMMODATION AC

2 set of AC compressor’s Performance is satisfactory. Compressor is to be changed in every after one


month, cooler to be cleaned & kept in stand-by.

FRIDGE COMPRESSOR

2 set of AC compressor’s Performance is satisfactory. Compressor is to be changed in every after one


month, cooler to be cleaned & kept in stand-by.

CONTROL ROOM AIR CONDITION: Performance is satisfactory

ENGINE ROOM OVER HEAD CRANE: In good working condition.

E/R TANK TOP AND BILGE WELL

E/R tank top is well maintained in dry and oil free-state.


All bilge alarms are operational and to be tried out regularly.

CARGO HOLD BILGE SYSTEM:

Operation is satisfactory. Main cargo hold bilge pipe suction line blanked before loading.
