Safety Precautions
A careful operator is the best operator. Most accidents can be avoided by observing certain precautions.
To help prevent accidents, read and take these safety precautions and pay attention to the job at hand.
If you can prevent an accident in advance, your time will have been spent well.

THE TRACTOR
1. Read this entire manual carefully before using
the tractor. Lack of operating knowledge can
lead to accidents.
2. Only allow properly trained and qualified
persons to operate the tractor.
3. Pay special attention to the warning and
caution labels affixed on the tractor.
4. Replace all missing, illegible or damaged safety
decals. See list of decals on page 18.
5. Keep safety decals free of dirt or grime.

speeds compatible with safety, especially when
operating over rough and wet ground, when
crossing ditches or slopes and when turning

of ditches of banks which may break under the
weight of the tractor.

1. Servicing of Tractor
Your dealer is interested in your new tractor and
has the desire to help you get the most value from
it. After reading this manual thoroughly, you will
find that you can do some of the regular
maintenance yourself.
However, when in need of parts or major service,
be sure to see your KIOTI dealer.
For service, contact the KIOTI Dealership from
which you purchased your tractor or your local
authorized KIOTI dealer.
When in need of parts, be prepared to give your
dealer both the tractor and engine serial numbers.
The tractor serial number is located on the
transmission housing on the left-hand side of the
tractor. The engine serial number is located on the
engine crankcase, right side. Locate the serial
numbers now and record them in the space
provided.
Before using implements not sold by K I O T I

7.10 Use of the differential lock
Observe the following precautions when
applying the differential lock.
1. Apply the differential lock moderately. Limit
its use to the below situations.
• When the tractor enters or leaves the farm
field, it cannot move straight because of
excessive individual wheel-spin under difficult
or slippery field conditions.
• One rear wheel is caught in a loose area of
the field and the tractor cannot move due to
wheel-spin.
• In the cases of plowing, the rear wheel closer
to the ridge is caught in the loose soil and is
affected by wheel-spin.
1. Always reduce engine speed when
engaging the differential lock.
2. The use of the differential lock must be
limited to a particular period of time and
cannot be applied beyond that limit.
3. When the rear wheel is subjected to
excessive loads, even releasing the pedal

although the pedal springs back. Should the
d i fferential not unlock when turning the
t r a c t o r, lightly step on the brake pedal
opposite to the turn side or turn back the
steering wheel and run the tractor straight.
By doing so, the differential can be
unlocked. If the brake pedal of the turn side
is depressed during turning, the differential
lock system takes on an undue load. Be
careful about such a improper operation.

IMPORTANT :
•Never use the differential lock when turning
the tractor. When engaged, the differential
lock will prevent the tractor from turning.
