    present continuous
    1. Form sentences in the present continuous using the following words:
    Example: She / buy / some flowers /
    She is buying some flowers.
    a. My father / work / now.
    My father is working now.
    b. Tom and Mary / play / tennis.
    Tom and Mary are playing tennis.
    c. Sheila / swim / in the sea.
    Sheila is swimming in the sea.
    d. They / drive / very fast.
    They are driving very fast.
    e. The dogs / bark / at the moment.
    The dogs are barking at the moment.
    f. Peter / do / his homework / right now.
    Peter is doing his homework right now.
    2. Make questions to the sentences in exercise 1 starting by Why…? as in the example:
    Example: Why is she buying some flowers?
    a. Why is your father working now?
    b. Why are Tom and Mary playing tennis?
    c. Why is Sheila swimming in the sea?
    d. Why are they driving very fast?
    e. Why are the dogs barking at the moment?
    f. Why is Peter doing his homework right now?
    3. Put these sentences into interrogative and negative:
    Example: Sam is travelling to the USA this week.
    Int.: Is Sam travelling to the USA this week?
    Neg.: Sam isn’t travelling to the USA this week.
    a. Susan is eating a sandwich now.
    Is Susan eating a sandwich now?

    Susan isn’t eating a sandwich now.

    b. My friends are learning French.


    Are my friends learning French?

    My friends aren’t learning French.
