Que - 1 Assume INDIA is succeeded in finding an immunogen consisting of a suspension of 04 CO6
weakened or dead pathogenic cells of COVID-19 in order to stimulate the
production of antibodies for CORONA Pandemic on 9th June 2020. We are in the
position of injecting the same in all individuals residing in Ahmedabad. The below
information will throw some light on statistics of this process. Develop the way to
reach to Euler’s method for finding the estimated number of people got
vaccination upto 16th June, 2020. (Consider the ending point as midnight –
normally what we all do).
The number of people injected vaccination (hourly) is 28 on 10th June, 35 on 11th
June, 45 on 12th June, 56, 67, 80, and 100 from 13th to 16th June respectively.
(Assume the injection process is going on for 24 hours without being interrupted
and count all hours for the day mentioned here to avoid ambiguity.)
Que - 2 The depth of an oil well, say X is assumed to be a continuous random variable with 04 CO4
the probability density function fሺxሻ = 6xሺ1 − xሻ, 0 ≤ x ≤ 1.
(i) Test that the above is a pdf.
(ii) Solve for b, such that PሺX < ܾሻ = PሺX > ܾሻ, where bϵℝ .
Que - 3 The weights of students in a class are normally distributed with a mean of 65 and 04 CO5
a variance of 25. If 3 students are selected at random from this class, appraise the
probability that at least one of them weighs more than 75 kg?
Que - 4 A man has the choice of running either a hot-snack stall or an ice-cream stall at a 04 CO5
seaside resort during the summer season. If it is a fairly cool summer, he should
make Rs. 5000 by running the hot-snack stall, but if the summer is quite hot, he
can only expect to make Rs. 1000. On the other hand, if he operates the ice-cream
stall, his profit is estimated at Rs. 6500, if the summer is hot, but only Rs. 1000 if it
is cool. There is a 40 % chance of the summer being hot. Judge whether the man

should opt for running hot-snack stall or the ice-cream stall?
Que - 5 The number of industrial injuries per working week in a particular factory follows 04 CO3
Poisson distribution with mean 0.5. Solve for the following probabilities
(a) For a particular week there will be:
(i) less than 2 accidents,
(ii) more than two accidents;
(b) For a three week period there will be no accidents.

Que - 1 A solid is formed by rotating about the x-axis, the area bounded as following: the 10 CO4
lines x=0 and x=1.5 from left and right respectively, x-axis from below and a curve
from above through the points with the following coordinates:
Evaluate the volume of the solid formed using Trapezoidal, Simpson’s one-third
and Weddle’s rule.
Que - 2 CORONA infected people in a small town grows proportional to its existing 10 CO6
patients. Initially the number of infected people was 50000 and the COVID-19
positive people grow at a rate of 4% per week. Formulate the suitable
mathematical model and solve the following cases by Modified Euler’s method.
a) The number of patients after 3 weeks.
b) How long it will take to double the patients.
