VII. PLANETARY ASPECTS (INFLUENCE):

a. BHAVAS 4 & 8: All planets have 75% aspect, except Ma which has 100%
b. BHAVAS 5 & 9: All planets have 50% aspect, except Ju which has 100%
c. BHAVAS 3 & 10: All planets have 25% aspect, except Sa which has 100%
VIII. NUMERICAL VALUES:
a. MIRROR effect of the 7th BHAVA: 3rd BHAVA rules the conscious mind and 9th
BHAVA represents the wisdom of the higher mind. 10th BHAVA is house of public as is
the 4th BHAVA to some extent. 6th BHAVA rules sickness and the 12th BHAVA
represents hospitals and isolation.
b. BHAVAATH BHAVAM: Derivative of the BHAVA and tends to perpetuate the good or
evil results of the BHAVA. Ex: 6th lord posited in 6th BHAVA from its position, viz. 11th
BHAVA – the native may suffer from one disease to another. 4th lord posited in 4th
BHAVA from its position, viz. 7th BHAVA – the native may study one subject after
another, or obtain one degree after another.
c. BHAVA lords in TRIK BHAVAS when reckoned from the BHAVA under consideration
hold ominous implications for that house. Ex: 5th lord posited in 10th BHAVA reckoned
from the 5th BHAVA gives bad results. When the lord of a BHAVA is in a good BHAVA
as counted from Ascendant (LAGNA) and a TRIK BHAVA as counted from the BHAVA
it rules, there will be a tendency for everything indicated by that BHAVA (except for
living beings) to be initially obstructed and then to be rectified, while the living beings
indicated by that BHAVA will tend to be more permanently disturbed. Exception: Ma as
5th lord for Cancer Ascendant posited in Aries.
Ma

Asc

Ve as 5th lord for Gemini Ascendant posited in Pisces will be unable to produce children.
When the TRIK lord occupies a TRIK BHAVA as counted from that BHAVA under
consideration, it is doubly bad for the living beings represented by that BHAVA.
Ve Asc

A desirable placement occurs when the lord of a BHAVA occupies good positions
reckoned both from the BHAVA and from the Ascendant.
IX. DISPOSITOR PRINCIPLE (INFLUENCE): One of the most significant ways in which one planet
can influence another in a horoscope is by acting as its DISPOSITOR, the lord of the RASI in
which it sits.
X. BASIC PRINCIPLES OF DELINEATION:
1. BENEFICS vis-à-vis BHAVA, BHAVA Lord, KARAKA: Natural benefic planets enhance the
desirable indications and suppress the undesirable indications of a BHAVA by:
 Occupying (or) Aspecting that BHAVA, especially if they OWN it;
 Conjoining (or) Aspecting the BHAVA Lord; or
 Conjoining (or) Aspecting the SIGNIFICATOR (KARAKA) of that BHAVA.
2. BENEFICS vis-à-vis PLANETS: Natural benefic planets enhance the desirable indications and
suppress the undesirable indications of a planet (GRAHA) they conjoin (or) aspect.
3. MALEFICS vis-à-vis BHAVA, BHAVA Lord, KARAKA: Natural malefic planets enhance the
undesirable indications and suppress the desirable indications of a BHAVA by:
 OCCUPYING (or) ASPECTING that BHAVA, unless one of them OWNS the BHAVA,
in which case it will enhance the desirable indications and suppress the undesirable of the
BHAVA indications though it would be less than it would be if it were a benefic planet);
 CONJOINING (or) ASPECTING the BHAVA Lord; or
 CONJOINING (or) ASPECTING the SIGNIFICATOR (KARAKA) of that BHAVA.
4. MALEFICS vis-à-vis PLANETS: Natural malefic planets enhance the undesirable indications and
suppress the desirable indications of a PLANET (GRAHA) they CONJOIN (or) ASPECT.
5. Natural BHAVA SIGNIFICATORS (KARAKA): They increase the results of the BHAVA they
signify when they ASPECT that BHAVA. This is also true when they are posited in those
BHAVAS except:
 Ma in 3H except for Aquarius Ascendant & Virgo Ascendant
 WnMo in 4H except for Aries Ascendant
 Ju in 5H except for Leo Ascendant and Scorpio Ascendant
 Ve in 7H except for Aries Ascendant and Scorpio Ascendant
 Su in 9H except for Sagittarius Ascendant
 Ju in 11H except for Taurus Ascendant and Aquarius Ascendant
The exception is that they do no harm if the KARAKA is in its own CONSTELLATION (RASI).
6. PLANETS IN OWN BHAVA: Planets occupying their own BHAVA will typically give strong &
beneficial results. Planets, if naturally benefic, will strongly enhance the BHAVA they aspect. A
natural malefic planet occupying its own BHAVA will not however enhance the BHAVA they
aspect; the exception being Ma in Aries and aspects its own BHAVA, the Scorpio.

Sa in Capricorn will aspect deleteriously, but less deleteriously than a debilitated Sa or one
posited in an enemy’s constellation.

7. POSITION OF PLANETS:
 QUADRANT/ TRIKONA – all the matters it naturally signifies are enhanced;
 DUSTHANA – detrimental to the natural signification, except when in own
CONSTELLATION it is slightly impaired; and
 UPACHAYA - will improve over time. Significations for BHAVAS 3 & 6 are impaired
at first and then become ameliorated, while the significations of planets in BHAVAS 10
& 11 are good from the outset and go on to become even better.
8. PLANETS IN TRIKONA: The TRINAL lords will enhance the desirable matters of any BHAVA
in which they are posited or aspect unless they simultaneously rule a TRIK BHAVA. This will
especially be true if this TRINAL lord is influenced by a natural benefic planet without any
influence from a natural malefic planet.
9. TRIK LORDS: The lords of TRIK BHAVA will disturb the desirable matters of any BHAVA in
which they are posited (or) aspect unless:
 they own a KENDRA;
 they own a TRIKONA; and
 they occupy their own BHAVA.
This will be true if influenced by a natural malefic and with no benefic influences.
10. The KENDRA/ TRIKONA/ Neutral BHAVA lords:
 If posited in other KENDRA (or) TRIKONA BHAVA, the desirable indications of the
BHAVA owned by the lords get enhanced and the undesirable indications of the BHAVA
will be suppressed.

Praveena-II, Paper-III, Part-I Page |6


Basic Delineation & Dynamic Configuration ICAS-BD&DC-001 R-0

 If posited in Neutral BHAVA, the indications of the BHAVA owned by the lords is only
average.
 If posited in TRIK BHAVA, the indications of the BHAVA owned by the lords will be
disturbed.
11. The TRIK lord in KENDRA/ TRIKONA/ Neutral BHAVA:
 In KENDRA/ TRIKONA/ Neutral BHAVA. The benefic implications of TRIK BHAVA
will be enhanced, though the malefic implications will not be suppressed. TRIK lord in a
good BHAVA will damage the BHAVA he is posited.
 The TRIK lord in a DUSTHANA will damage the BHAVA he owns.
 The TRIK lords are some extent troublesome no matter where they are posited unless
they occupy their own constellation (RASI).
12. Exalted planets will greatly enhance whatever they indicate. Retrograde planets will be strong.
13. PLANETS IN A CONSTELLATION (RASI): pleasant & favourable results in descending order
 Owned by a natural benefic & friend;
 Owned by a natural benefic & enemy;
 Owned by a natural malefic & friend; and
 Owned by a natural malefic & enemy.
14. PLANETS IN ASSOCIATION: Mutual friendly planets when participating together cooperate
together to enhance the beneficial results (or) reduce the detrimental effects. Conversely, planets
who are enemies to each other will be reluctant, even when they participate together in a desirable
horoscopic combination, to cooperate with each other for these purposes.
15. A planet in a BHAVA is strengthened when flanked on both sides by constellations (RASIS)
containing natural benefic planets. A planet in a BHAVA is dampened when flanked on both sides
by constellations (RASIS) containing natural malefic planets.
16. When lord of BHAVA aspects or occupies another BHAVA, the meaning of the 2(two) BHAVAS
are blended. The aspect or the occupying lord becomes the cause for the EFFECT promised by the
BHAVA that is aspected or occupied.
17. When planets associate with or aspect each other, the meanings of those planets as natural
SIGNIFICATORS and as lords of the BHAVAS they own become blended.
18. Planets act on the constellations (RASI) in much the same manner as they affect the BHAVAS
with certain exceptions. For example, a RASI is strong when flanked by benefic or when aspected
or occupied by a benefic unless that benefic is debilitated, in which case the planet may actually
disturb the RASI under consideration.
