Introduction

There are many different types of responses that can be expressed by students,

some are obvious to see while others can be more subtle. Their responses can

happen in person or online environments. Physical and verbal responses can

happen in person; but verbal and social rants mostly happen online.

Different responses can be easy to see, in front of others, or hidden and hard for

those not directly informed to see.

Easy to see responses involves emotional actions such as anger, frustration,

confusion, fear or surprise.

Cyber Rage is often hidden as it occurs on devices, websites and apps that

adults don't know about or don’t access. It is also easy to remain anonymous. As

young people increasingly use digital technology, the boundaries between the

physical and online environment can become more blurred, so it's important to

look at other situations as well and to take all reports and yield more information

to revise a certain regulation.

Remember, emotional responses that are neglected can sometimes lead to

depression and psychological disorders. Being ignored and confusion can make

some students reluctant to initiate an action.

Background of the Study

Smartphones are mobile phones that have a computer-like function. According to

William and Sawyer (2011), smartphone is a mobile phone with a microprocessor,

memory, and built-in modem. Smartphone is a multimedia phone that resulting in a

luxurious gadget, where there are camera, music players, videos, games, email

access, digital television, GPS

The evolution of the times and technology the concept of smartphone continues to

grow from year to year, as an advanced device. Smartphones are phones that does

not have cables, internet access, can bring around and use anywhere (oxford

dictionary, 2008). Smartphones in this era is needed, because the function of this

smartphone can replace the computer function. For example, if someone wants to

find information in the smartphone can use application such as google search. The

functionality of the smartphone is as a tool for human beings in their daily work. The

new discovery in terms of communication technology and the variety of smartphone

usage, led to a change in the way a person views the use of smartphones.

Inevitably, the school must make regulations regarding the phenomenon of the use

of these smartphones.

This study therefore, attempts to find out the responses of students in Grade 11 Arts

and Design. Also, to check whether or not there will be significant difference in the

study habits of students using mobile phones in class.

Statement of the Problem

This study aimed to determine the Initial Human Response of Grade 11 Art

and Design students on banning mobile phones in school.

Specifically, this study answered the following questions:

1. Is it better for students to not use mobile phones in class?

2. Are there significant differences on how students study with and without their

mobile phones?

3. Are there significant responses that affect the students?

Significance of the Study

The Researcher focused on The Study of Initial Human Response of Grade 11 Art

and Design students on banning mobile phones

Admin - The administrations will learn and will use their learnings to be create a rule

in school to help students who use mobile phones as an instrument in their study

Students - The students will benefited to this study as they will gain a proper
