The document discusses whether face-to-face classes should resume given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. While education is important, health and safety should be the top priority. Teachers' unions argue that schools lack proper safety measures and many teachers have already gotten sick. Resuming in-person classes could lack teachers and risk infecting both students and teachers. The new virus variants add further health concerns. Overall, face-to-face classes should not resume until schools can properly plan and prepare safety protocols, as health and safety should come before all other considerations during a pandemic.

Should Face-to-Face Class resume in this time of Pandemic?

While the world is in chaos worrying about the Covid-19 Pandemic, the education of
students should not be neglected, but health should not be also neglected. The education
department provide self- learning modules for the students to acquire knowledge, and at the same
time to be safe against Covid-19. The government is planning to resume of face-to-face class
while it still has pandemic, however, it still an argument to the public concerning their health and
safety.

Should it be resumed or not? I believe what matters the most right now is the health and
safety of the majority.

“ Many of our teachers and employees have been infected with Covid-19 due to the lack
of safety measures in schools while they were required to report physically, these problem
should be amply resolved first, lest we allow our students to suffer the same fate” Alliance of
Concerned Teachers(ALC) Secretary General. Raymond Basilio said. Clearly, if the resume of
face-to-face class would happen, there would be a lack of teachers to teach the students and
worst is the students and teachers will get infected by the virus. The risk that will be taken to
resume class would compromise the health of students and teachers, as well as the safety of their
families. As the Department of Health supports the face-to-face resume of classes in low-risk
areas, areas as said where the pandemic is under control. The pandemic itself is still untamed.
The lack of health facilities in school is an enough reason to not let the face-to-face class resume,
we are not yet prepared to accommodate this situation. The pandemic is not yet controlled, thus,
the spread of virus is cannot be avoided. The new strain of Covid-19 from the United Kingdom
has already affected and spread into many countries, and ours is not an exemption. As the new
stain of the virus affects our country, the health concern of the public gets doubled, especially the
concern of parents to their children. Having the resume of face-to-face class is a reckless action
to take considering these reasons.

All in all, the resume of face-to-face class should be planned and prepared first before
making it happen. Face-to-face class is not an option just for the students to learn and acquire
knowledge, they can still learn inside their home with the guidance of teachers and parents. In
this time of pandemic, health and safety first before anything else. As what the quote said, Health
is wealth and Safety is always a priority.
