What fiesta traditions do you observe in your hometown or the place
where you currently live? When is the fiesta held and what does it commemorate? What are the rituals and activities?
October is special month within the province of Sorsogon. Thiis is the
month that Sorsogon City celebrates fiesta and Kasanggayahan Festival. This 2021, Sorsogon is celebrating the 127th year as a separate city. The government office of Sorsogon usually dedicates the complete month of October to carry various activities promoting and showcasing what makes this province unique and the way it can help to push our country better. During the kasangayahan festival, it also features the Pantomina on the Bedouin, which shows the ritual as a dance dance. This dance is reflected in the culture of Bikol. It is often celebrated in festivals and weddings, until it is done on roads when it was first celebrated in 1974. Pantomina dancers dressed in traditional clothing from different parts of the province. The celebration “Gayon” (Double) was first launched in the 1990’s. The theme is related to nature issues in Sorsogon. While the couples dances, other couples also follows them. The parade was so fun and joyful because everyone was shouting and very happy about the parade of the couples and tho clothing of the dancer was very colorful and was very beautiful. At the End of parade is the competition of every representative of each municipalities.
