Kingfisher started with 5 breweries in South India, the oldest of which, Castle Breweries,
dated back to 1857. In 1915, these 5 small breweries decided to join forces to become United
Breweries. And, soon afterwards, the people of South India were astonished by the sight of
bullock carts carrying huge barrels or ‘hogsheads’ containing beer. These carts trundled their
way to customers, including British troops, living in and around Chennai, Bangaluru,Goa and
the Nilgiris.

Conclusion
17
All company has a very good reputation in the industry.
Middle class people should not be considered as a major customer group who are
interested in company products.
Industrial visit was good according to as far me and I learn very muct form that ture and I
got many information about the companies .
It was a good experience altogether and each company I visited contributed to a part in
understanding the course better. On a personal level, it improved my relationship with my
existing friends and I also got to know other students whom I never actually had a proper
conversation with. I was amazed by how much I enjoyed these few days which turned out to be
educational and yet so much fun, given my earlier reservations about the trip. Not surprisingly,
on my way back I wished the trip had been longer and was sad that it was all over!
