Interpretation
This course module will introduce you the basic concepts of educational
measurement and evaluation to the assessment of learning outcomes. Also, you will be
taught how to construct test, administer the test and analyze test items. The course module
further addresses how to interpret and validate test.
Explain the nature and roles of a good assessment, and its relevance to learners,
teachers, parents, and stakeholders.
Critique teacher-made tests as to the principles of high quality assessment.
Construct sample classroom assessment test for measuring target learning
outcomes.
Interpret a given set of assessment data for reporting purposes.
Make a lesson with aligned learning objectives, teaching-learning activities and
assessment.

Introduction
Welcome to Lesson 1 of Module 2! This lesson will introduce and explain to you
the appropriateness and alignment of assessment methods to learning outcomes.
Hence, to comprehend the principle of appropriateness of assessment methods to
learning outcomes, we need to revisit the taxonomy of learning domains and look at
the different assessment methods.
