The problems faced in the transition to E-learning by Pakistani universities:

Where there are advantages like ease, cost-saving, convenience, and efficiency of e-learning side
by side there are many disadvantages also. Most people enjoy the freedom and flexibility that e-
learning gives, many prefer the traditional classroom method of teaching. 

Due to the pandemic faced by Pakistan, many universities are facing troubles in holding
online classes also. Students are not serious that results in the lack of their interest. Main among
all is that student get knowledge on a theoretical basis and when it comes to practical life, they
face difficulties. Also, it is difficult for those studies that need practicality. The face-to-face
learning experience is missing, which may matter to many of us. Some students misbehave;
teachers got frustrated, an environment of nonseriousness keeps ongoing. Not all people have a
stable internet connection that supports online streaming powerfully. It’s not about just learning
from books, some people come to socialize, interact, and to learn something other than bookish
knowledge from their professors. With e-learning this can be hard that’s why some students
might feel isolated and deprived of support. Online learning cannot offer human interaction. It
may be a solo act. Moreover, feedback by the students shows their progress. Students who are
experiencing difficulties in their studies can resolve them quickly either during the lecture or in
dedicated office hours by coordinating with the teacher. Feedback always has a positive effect on
students as it makes learning processes easier and more significant. Moreover, students can
improve themselves by getting feedback. The validity can be a problem during an online session
as anyone can do a project or assignment on behalf of others.
Most of the students take online classes easy and as a result, they are unable to know their flaws
and weak points. All the educational disciplines are not equal, some studies like medical science
and engineering require serious practical work that cannot be done during online learning. Time
to time feedback by teachers make students active also. The lack of physical classroom and
instructor can be mind-numbing and demotivating also. Lack of self-motivation continues to be
the primary reason why students fail in taking online classes. While on-campus classes push
many students to take classes because of numerous reasons that can be face-to-face-
communication, peer-to-peer activities, and many others. Most of the online assessments are
limited to the questions that are
objective and the only reason behind this is the lack of interaction. On the other side, the
traditional learning system is more effective as students have chances to learn more. People
groom when they are socially active. Unfortunately, one of the main issues faced by universities
during e-learning is cheating. Compared to on-campus studies students take their assessments to
the environment they like and by using their personal computer or mobile side by side they
started cheating. Cheat detection in this case is very difficult as compared to traditional testing
ways. It is essential to make e-learning interactive and engaging as much as possible to avoid
consequences.

Summing this up, e-learning has both pros and cons in real life. The pros mainly focused on less
cost, availability, ease, and flexibility of the whole process. The cons are mostly about personal
and emotional factors. Most of them are not critical and can be resolved easily. If we focus most
of the disadvantages are caused by self-being. If we make ourselves active and engaging then
these problems can be covered easily.
However, we need to develop both traditional and non-traditional learning equally in an effective
way so that we together can cope up with this situation to get out of this problem.
