ROLES AND SIGNIFICANCE OF FILIPINOS’ INDIGENOUS SOCIAL IDEAS TO THE NATIONAL
DEVELOPMENT:
Indigenous peoples have sought recognition of their identities, way of life and their right to traditional lands,
territories and natural resources for years. They are inheritors and practitioners of unique cultures and ways in which
they relates it to the environment, other people where realization of their work observe even today and it will continue
to prosper beyond time because of their indigenous social ideas embodied to us.
Indigenous Social Ideas – It refers to the idea that had been created and accepted by the
people in the society. (www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary n.d.) This refers also to indigenous Filipino
peoples’ social, cultural, economic and political development or values that spread across to societies
along different geographical region that leads to national development of the country.
