 Suresh Wadkar is an Indian playback singer. He was born in 1954 in
Kolhapur, India.

He attended the gurukul of Pandit Jialal Vasant to aquire classical music

education. He graduated in music with Vocal and Tabla from Prayag Sangeet
Samiti, Allahabad

He particiapted in and won the Sur Singar Samsad, a music competiton, in 1976. Jaidev, a music
composer in the Indian film industry gave him his first break as a playback singer with the film
Gaman (1978). He became famous with the film Prem Rog (1982) in which he sang four songs
for hero Rishi Kapoor.

He has sung songs for various Hindi films like Paheli (1977), Hum Paanch (1980), Pyasa Sadma
(1983), Ram Teri Ganga Meli (1985), Lamhe (1991), Rangeela (1995), Maachis (1996) etc.

Suresh also sings non filmi Hindi songs. He is also a well-known Marathi playback singer. Lately,
he has entered the world of music direction and has also been successful there.

He was one of the judges of the show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'IL Champs 2007 on Zee TV.
