The document outlines requirements for formatting supplier drawings submitted to John Deere, including required labeling, information sections, and restrictions on sharing and modifying the drawings.

Supplier drawings must include things like microfilm centering marks, a 'Restricted' label, and repetition of information on each page for multi-page drawings. They can only use the supplier's drawing border format and must not be shared without permission.

The 'John Deere Requirements' section must contain a revision block with change details, a design block with key metadata, and be repeated on each page of multi-page drawings.

JDS-G113.1X1
Annex X1: Drafting;
Supplier Drawing Requirements

1 Scope
This document defines the minimum requirements for formatting Supplier Drawings (as they are defined
by JDS-G113 and JDS-G113.13). Minimum format requirements include the required “RESTRICTED”
drawing identification markings to be placed on supplier drawings, the standard required John Deere
information that is to be placed on a supplier’s drawing format, and the archiving requirements for supplier
drawings.

All supplier drawings adopted after 2002-03-01 (01 March 2002) will follow the requirements of this
standard.

2 General
Supplier drawings (as defined by JDS-G113) may not be shared with anyone external to Deere &
Company (see JDS-G113) without proper consent (per John Deere UP21 guidelines). Only Deere &
Company Personnel are allowed to use and view these drawings unless proper consent is given. Supplier
drawings may not be altered beyond the requirements set forth in this document by anyone considered
Internal to Deere & Company.

Due to the extra care and consideration required to limit access to this type of drawing, adopting supplier
drawings is not recommended. (The guidelines set forth in UP21 should be reviewed when using a
supplier’s drawing.) The John Deere drawing is the preferred drawing type.

4 Requirements for Supplier Drawings

The following information is required for all supplier drawings:

4.1 General Information Requirements

4.1.1 Drawing size: See JDS-G113.1, Section 4, Table 1.

4.1.2 Minimum of one Microfilm Centering Mark centered in bottom border of each sheet of the
drawing. Additional microfilm centering marks are acceptable on the drawing (See JDS-G113.1, Section
5.2.1).

4.1.3 Roll size drawings (J and K size) will have a Segment Drawing Number Block (See JDS-
G113.1, Section 5.8), a Microfilm Centering Mark (See JDS-G113.1, Section 5.2.1) and all of the
“Restricted” markings (section 4.2 of this document) in each segment of the drawing.

4.1.4 Drawing Format: Only one border format is preferred on the drawing. This should be the
supplier’s drawing border as is shown in Figure 4 of this document. Supplier drawings may be placed
inside a blank, generic border format when necessary for the addition of information required by John
Deere. This blank border format will be of a size to be legible and reproducible (as shown in Figure 5). All
formats should be of a size designated by JDS-G113.1. The John Deere Title Block Format will not be
used on Supplier Drawings.

4.2 Restricted Information Requirements

4.2.1 All required “RESTRICTED INFORMATION REQUIREMENTS” must be contained within the
supplier’s border of the drawing and must be repeated on each sheet of multiple sheet drawings and
within each segment of multiple segment drawings.

4.2.2 A “RESTRICTED” Symbol (Figure 1) must appear within the supplier’s border on all supplier
drawings, and in an area not covering any data. This label may be reduced to fit the supplier’s drawing,
but must still be legible and reproducible. The label will read:

RESTRICTED
SUPPLIER’S DRAWING
FOR INTERNAL USE OF
DEERE & CO. PERSONNEL
ONLY

Figure 1 — Restricted Label

(This symbol must appear in English but may also appear in additional languages.)

4.2.3 A Diagonal Label reading “RESTRICTED, DEERE & CO. ONLY” (this may be either one or two
lines of type), must appear on the suppliers drawing. This label must not impede the visibility of any
drawing data, must be diagonal in appearance and must not cross over the outside drawing format
border. If a blank border format is used in addition to the supplier’s border, the label must cross over the
supplier’s drawing border but remain within the outer, “generic border” to indicate if tampering has
occurred. (See Figures 4 and 5.)

4.3 John Deere Requirements
4.3.1 All information in the section “JOHN DEERE REQUIREMENTS” is required and must be
contained within the outermost border of the drawing and must be repeated on each sheet of multiple
sheet drawings.

4.3.2 The Revision Block (Figure 2) on a suppliers drawing must display the change document
number which adopts the change(s), date of drawing change(s), and full name of the person requesting
the change(s) (following the guidelines for Revision Blocks found in JDS-G113.1). Preferred placement of
the revision block is in the lower right corner of the drawing, near the Design Block.

4.3.3 The Design Block (Figure 3) information is required to be placed as close to the lower right
corner of the drawing as is possible and has 6 required data elements. These data elements must be
displayed within one unique Design Block as is shown in figure 3. The data elements contained in the
Design Block must meet the requirements found in JDS-G113 series of documents.

4.4 Additional Information Items

4.4.1 Adding reference information to a supplier drawing to show the John Deere service part numbers
for the supplier’s equivalent part numbers on a parts list or a bill of material is permissible. This is not a
preferred practice. If the design intent of a part or assembly changes a new supplier drawing is required.

4.4.2 Temporary or preliminary supplier drawings are not allowed.

4.4.3 Removal of supplier information from the drawing is prohibited, with the exception of striking out
(e.g. strike) part numbers that appear as options on drawings but that John Deere doesn’t use.

4.4.4 Using the John Deere title block format (as defined in JDS-G113.1) for supplier drawings is
prohibited.

4.4.5 Adding dimensions, tolerances or other notes to supplier drawings is prohibited.
