The Cause and Effect of Exercise

It is important to have a routine to govern how your day will go. One of the most

important things to set aside time for on a consistent basis is exercise, or some time to get active.

One of the most reliable workouts is to start lifting weights. While there is a risk of injury to

one’s self or to people nearby, many injuries can be easily avoided, either by lifting what you can

lift or by practicing proper safety in the weight room. It may not have been an easy improvement

to my life, I can safely and confidently say that there is an unmistakable improvement on my life

when I decided to lift weights. My decision to start weightlifting has improved my health and

made me happier person in general. Working out has made me considerably more confident and

healthier.

My decision to start weightlifting encouraged me to make improvements to my life.

Before I began, I was overweight and inactive, I did not do much in the way of exercise, I was

only in one club in my school and was very anti-social. There was no structure to my life before I

started working out, my dad saw that and encouraged me to start working out in the school
weight room with the football team, after school. At first, I thought I would only go there for

about a week and then quit, but I would still give it a try. After that week, however, I started to

enjoy working out and started to interact with the Football team more. I kept going after school

to the weight room, even quit Art Club to lift. I started to make friends on the Football team and

interact with them more often, although I was still had no intention of joining the team yet. I

would ultimately join after I figured that it would be an excellent opportunity to get out of my

comfort zone, give me a goal to strive for in my lifting, and give more of a structure to my life.

By the end of my Sophomore year, I had officially joined the team and never regrated it for a

moment. All of that was because I tried working out and stuck with it, if I had not given

weightlifting a chance, I would be in a different spot then I am today.

A regular workout schedule is a clear way to lose weight, as I have experienced myself. I

have noticed a clear distinction in my body before and after lifting regular, and even I stopped

lifting on a regular basis. At the start of the Pandemic, as all the schools were being closed, I

stopped working out as hard as I previously had been before, given that the as school weight

room was the way I would get my lifts in. The Football Program set up a workout for the team to

do during the lockdowns if we did not have the access to a weight room while the school was

closed. I had done the exercises however after month into the lockdown I had procrastinated on

the work one to many times then eventually forgot about them entirely. As a result, I and many

other, gained weight as during the lockdowns where I was losing weight. This made it harder to

get back to the previous weight I had been lifting before the Pandemic. Lifting is one of the best

things that I have done, but also requires a lot a of attention and discipline to maintain. Even after

the football season I have tried to maintain a constant and worthwhile workout plan with varied

results, even made me rethink me current diet and showed me the value of eating healthier to not
only get the required amount of carbs needed to lift more weight, but also to get the required

vitamins and minerals needed for the body to function properly.

A regular workout schedule has been a positive addition to my weekly routine. Having a

workout schedule added structure to day-to-day life as well as make me healthier and gave me

confidence. While it can be difficult and occasionally risky, lifting weights has provided me with

a great exercise and opportunities to grow as a person. A consent workout routine has drastically

improved my life for the better. If I had decided to quit after my first week, I think I would not

be in as good of a spot that I am now.
