II. Opposites

III. Answer the following

1. How was the Earth in the beginning of the story? Why was it like that?
Ans. The Earth was hot and dry because it was summer all the time.

2. What were the difficulties faced by the animals?


Ans. The difficulties faced by the animals are as follows:
a. There was no water to drink.
b. There was no fresh air to breathe.
c. They did not have any food to eat except the dry grass.

3. Who gave the idea to solve the problems and what was it?
Ans. The Polar bear gave the idea to go to Skyland to meet the Skywoman.

4. How did the Skywoman help?


The Skywoman helped the animals by giving them three bags which contained wind, rain and snow,
signifying the different seasons.

5. Do you think the seasonal changes are important? Why?

Yes, I think seasonal changes are important because we cannot have Summer or Winter throughout the
year/ when we have Summer continuously we will not get water and the trees may not grow.
