    Autumn Meeting –
    Tuesday 21st Following the County Championships I have selected my team for County Match
    September at week at Stoke by Nayland in Essex. Annabel Pitts was crowned champion for the
    Pavenham Park fourth year in a row. What a fantastic achievement. The County Match event will
    be held on June 17th-20th and the team are as follows:
    EAST REGION Sue Caley, Laura Collin, Caitlin Thomas, Luca Thompson, Chanel Fontaine Geary,
    COMPETITIONS - Entry Georgia Staroscik, Jess Sporle, Steph Scott, Annabel Pitts

    Region –Pavenham Park CHAMPIONSHIP AND SPRING MEETING HELD AT ASPLEY GUISE
    Golf club 13th July 2021.
    Closing date for entries 25th
    AND WOBURN SANDS GOLF CLUB 21st MAY 2021
    June 2021.
    Senior Ladies Annabel Pitts from Cainhoe Woods Golf Club won the County Championship for
    Championship Swaffham
    Golf Club on the 2nd August the fourth year.
    2021. Closing date for
    entries 19th July 2021. In the Seniors Championship the best gross score was Sue Caley from Aspley Guise
    and Woburn Sands Golf Club with Dawn French in second place from John O Gaunt
    NEW COUNTY
    Golf Club. The best nett prize in the Senior Championship was won by Alison
    SHIRTS Stroomer from Mount Pleasant Golf Club with Yvonne Richards from Aspley Guise
    in second place. The Bond trophy was won by Yvonne Richards and the Lanaway
    Putter by South Beds Golf Club whose results were from Jacky Levinson, Michelle
    Fontaine Geary, Sue Paterson and Carol Clarke.

    News from Bedford and County Golf Club.


    We now have our new starter’s hut for the first tee. A few years ago
    we lost one of our ladies, Caroline Dell, to a rare cancer and sadly her
    husband Jim died of cancer too last year. He left us some money in his
    will and the starter’s hut was the first addition to the course furniture
    we have purchased with the legacy. It will have an engraved plaque in
    due course and will be a lovely memory of them both at the start of
    each round.

    We wish Debbie Newnham-Davies and Anne Seaton every


    good wish for the Regional round of the Australian Spoons
    at Pavenham on 13th July.

    Mowsbury Golf Club News


    Now the better weather is here, it coincides nicely with the opening up of our hospitality. During May
    we have held 2 medals, one of which was the Senior 2000 qualifier and the Carole Ash Trophy. The
    results were:-
    Ladies Medal and 2nd Trayhorne Division 1- Alicia Hawking nett 84. Division 2 -1st Karen Heaume nett
    68 - Karen is our Senior 2000 qualifier. 2nd Marina Allen nett 75. 3rd Pam Coombs nett 78
    Ladies Midweek Medal Division 1st Sarah Hogg nett 78 2nd Caroline Clarke nett 78 3rd Jane Morgan nett

    We are all looking forward to more golf and competitions in the coming months.

    We have recently held two
    annual competitions. Our
    fund raiser for Breast Cancer
    with ‘Wearing it Ink’ raised
    £409.

    The annual Wild Flower


    Trophy was presented by Past
    Club Captain Ruth Bowers
    who now lives in St Just on
    the Cape in Cornwall.
