Discussion
Planning a Climb
• A plan to climb must first be submitted and approved by the officers of the organization
in order to be a designated as an official climb.
• The organizers of the climb should serve notice to the members at least one week
beforehand.
• Organizational regulations require that all the participants of the climb conduct a pre-
climb meeting at least three (3) days before the start of the climb.
Minor Climbs
These are mountains that could be easily trekked within a four- or six-hour period.
Basically, the trek is simple, light and easy. Because of this, they are also called fun climbs or
overnight climbs. These climbs are most favored by urbanites for their recreational purposes.

The province of Maguindanao does not run out of new attractions. Every now and then,
a new one is discovered and Mt. Minandar just added one to the count. The trail to the top of
Mt. Minandar, which was only recently opened to the public in the middle of 2016, passes
through a sparse forest and lush green picturesque slopes. The peak, which stands at 1,464
feet (450 meters) above sea level, can be reached in only a few hours of hiking. Ideal for leisure
sports or just getting away from the city's crowded streets.
Major Climbs
These are mountains with a higher degree of difficulty. The trip could take three or
more days with an average trekking time of seven or more hours per day. These climbs are
more favored by full time mountaineers because it tests their abilities and skills to survive
and to discover more of Mother Nature’s secrets.
Every mountaineer should witness the breathtaking beauty of Mt. Apo and the joy that
awaits those who bravely climb it. Mt. Apo, at 2,956 meters above sea level, is the Philippines'
highest mountain and is known as the Grandfather of Philippine Mountains. Located at Davao
Del Sur. It is one of the most difficult mountains to hike, so the trip will be difficult. You'll pass
by magical lakes, green jungles, rocky mountain sides, and a vertical portion of volcanic
boulders on your walk. It'll be a challenging adventure, but it'll be well worth it!
Clean-Up Climbs
These are climbs where you have paying clients that are guided up a mountain of
their choice. LNT are also taught in every participant.
Training Climbs
The primary purpose of these climbs is to meet the training requirements of the
applicants of the club. The organizers provide its applicants with a progressive climbing
program which gradually trains and prepares them for harder ascents.
Exploratory Climbs
These are climbing wherein no routes exist and are established and ascended for the
first time. These are the type of climbs that demand a great deal of planning and
preparation.
