Objectives:

Outdoor education can be simply defined as experiential learning in, for, or about the
outdoors. The term 'outdoor education', however, is used broadly to refer to a range of
organized activities that take place in a variety of ways in predominantly outdoor environments.
Outdoor education is organized learning that takes place in the outdoors. Examples of outdoor
education are Camping, Kayaking, Rock Climbing, Snowboarding, etc. Importance of Outdoor
Education
• Outdoor education gives depth to the curriculum and makes an important contribution to
students’ physical, personal and social education.
Allows students to experience a different learning style by being in a different
environment and using different skills. Branches of Outdoor Education
Interpersonal Skills
Trust, teamwork, effective communication, cooperation
Intrapersonal Skills
Leadership, decision making, self confidence
