INTRODUCTION

STEP 3. Remove the transmission pump.

speed shaft with a soft hammer to help
remove the cover.

spacer must be replaced as a complete

NOTE: Use the same procedures to assemble


the FORWARD and REVERSE
clutches. Lubricate the parts with clean
transmission oil.

STEP 1. Install new inner and auter seal rings on the piston. Lift trucks with transmission S/N
181987 FR and later: a white teflon seal is used as the outer seal ring. The teflon seal must fit tightly

on the shaft.

STEP 57. Install the O-ring, washer and nut on


the output shaft. Tighten the nut to 271-
340 N.m (200-250 lbf ft).

STEP 76. Put the drive gear for the hydraulic pump

engine at 2600 rpm. The maximum pressure is 482
kPa (70 psi).

* Check pressure at fitting for temperature sending unit on left side


of the transmission.

NOTE: All pressure checks with engine speed at 2000 rpm and
transmission oil temperatures at least 83°C (180°F)
