elements of performance, painting, sculpture,
dance, and many other media. It draws on the
movements of modern art, including minimalism and
assemblage art, to create dynamic pieces that aim

on cultural and political issues, including race,
human rights, economic inequality, and global
conflict. As the world continues to change and

popular in the Philippines were disco and hip hop.

1. Disco Dancing is a dance style characterized by


movement of the hip and pelvic, some will jump
together with the raising of arms to the beat of
the disco music. Its music is a continuous mix of
disco songs operated by the Disc Jockey.
2. Hip hop is a dance style that includes breaking,
locking and popping. It is something made just
happened or “freestyle” or spontaneous
performance.

Arts in the Philippines?
It is very important because each
contemporary art reflects someone’s
feelings, ideas or perspectives. Through
contemporary arts, Filipinos can express
themselves in a way that will be safely
observable for others. It is a means of
personal expression.
