Sub: Admission for M. Tech in Tool Engineering for Delhi institute of


Tool Engineering from the academic year 2014-15 onwards.

The details in seriatim are enumerated as below:

1. THE PROGRAMME: M.Tech. (TE) with total intake of 18 students. It’s a full time
2 year regular programme. Out of 18 seats, 13 are normal seats and 05 are
industry sponsored seats to meet the requirement of the industry.

2. ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS AND ADMISSION CRITERIA:


A (I) Minimum 60% or equivalent in the qualifying examination as under:
1. B.Tech./B.E. in Tool Engineering/Mechanical/Mechanical and
Automation/Production/ production and industrial Engineering or equivalent
2. Grad. AMIE(ME)
A (II) GATE qualified in production and industrial Engineering OR CET qualified
(for Non-GATE) Candidates
(B) Admission Criteria for CET candidates
a) Merit List will be prepared on the basis of qualified and valid GATE Score. If
seats remain vacant after admitting students with qualified and valid GATE
score, then the admission for vacant seats shall be made on the basis of CET
rank/merit for NON GATE Candidates, subject to securing of a minimum of 60%
marks in qualifying exam.
b) For industry sponsored: the merit list will be prepared on the following basis:
1. Merit list of normal seats.
2. One mark each for an additional year of experience but upto a maximum
marks will be 110. The cutoff date for counting the experience shall be 31 May
2014.
3. Candidate should also have at least one year of professional experience.
4. A letter from employer must be furnished stating that the candidate being
sponsored to seek admission in M.Tech. Regular programme against sponsored
seats.
Note:
i) If in case tie in score, the candidate older in age will be given priority
ii) The merit list may change subject to verification of GATE Score and other
information from the original documents/ mark sheets at the time of counseling.
iii) If all seats filled from GATE candidates for M.Tech. then there will be no
counseling for NON-GATE candidates.
iv) If the seats remain vacant after admitting students with qualified GATE
Score, the admission for those vacant seats shall be filled on the basis of marks
obtained in CET 2014 for M.Tech.

3. SYLLABI AND SCHEDULE OF CET (FOR NON GATE CANDIDATES) 2014:


As per Syllabus of GATE-2014- Mechanical/Production/ production and

industrial Engineering and schedule of CET including date, day, time of exam
and date of declaration of result, City/Centre for CET, mode of CET, date and
procedure of counseling/admission, seats allocation/ reservation of seats etc. will
be decided by the university same as the other M.Tech. Programmes.

4. FEE STRUCTURE: Governing council of DITE recommends that the quantum


of fee for similar Programmes being run by the University School of Studies &
Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology viz., Rs. 81,000/- at the time of admission and
Rs. 75,000/- in the subsequent year, may be adopted for this course. The fee
structure for M.Tech.(TE) is as under:

4) Alumni Association Fee ( onetime non refundable) 1000/-
5) Security Deposit-Refundable 5000/-
Total fee payable (at the time of admission) 81000/-
Fee payable in the subsequent year (Per Annum) 75000/-
