Queue Tree - QoS - Using Multiple Interfaces - Mikrotik

The document discusses how to properly apply a queue tree (QoS) to multiple interfaces in MikroTik RouterOS. In older versions, global-in and global-out queues could be used as parents for queue trees across interfaces, but these no longer exist in version 6. Suggested approaches for version 6 include using interface lists or applying the queue tree separately on each interface. The discussion provides examples of applying QoS across LAN interfaces and a VPN interface that share the same WAN connection.

4 Queue Tree / QoS - Using multiple interfaces

Hello, How does one properly apply a Queue Tree to multiple interfaces.

Example 1:

Ether2 is LAN1 and Ether6 is LAN2. They are separate networks but they use the same
WAN connection.

Example 2:

Ether2 is LAN1 and GRE1 is a VPN. They both use the same WAN connection.

In RouterOS v6+ there is no longer global-in and global-out to use with Queue Trees. I
was not using RouterOS back in v5 days, but based on the reading I have done this
seems like it would have solved the problem for me. I would be able to make global-in
and global-out the parent interfaces for the queue trees and then create children for
multiple interfaces.

What is the best practice for doing this now in RouterOS v6?

Except that last step references the (no longer existing) "global-in" and "global-out"
queues

I think you can use Interfaces Lists (available since v6.36)

12 PSA: RB5009 and Passive DAC
 Haven't seen this mentioned, but I thought I'd just pop in and note for everyone that,
unlike the RB4011, the RB5009 DOES support passive DACs. Currently using one to
connect my RB5009 to my CRS312 with no issues.

9 Future Products?
 Is there an early adopters product page or a list somewhere that tells us what products
are coming soon?

Really looking for a 2.5Gb PoE Switch one of these days since the TP link version of this
for the Omada series is pretty hard to manage.

7 Mikrotik CCR - Queue performance
  r/mikrotik Busca en Reddit Iniciar sesión Regístrate 
 Wisp...moving to a crm that controls queues for customers on our mikrotiks. The the crm
populates address lists for use with PCQ. With around 800 customers and 10 queues for
our speed plans, we are seeing a CCR1072 tank out between 2 to 2.2gbps. I've tested
using 800 individual smart queues instead and so far haven't seen any issues at peak
 4   times,Tree
Queue / QoS of
in excess - Using multiple
3gbps. Those interfaces
results seem in line with my research on the topic....that  Cerrar
is to say Smart queues being faster on a CCR than PCQ+AddrLists.

However I've been told some customers push upwards of 5gbps using PCQ+AddrLists on
a single router. Not sure if we are talking apples and oranges or maybe I'm doing
something wrong/less than optimal in my config.

Hoping for feedback on what others have experienced so I know if more troubleshooting
on PCQ is worth it or if setting these up as Simple Queues is the answer.

6 BGP peer stuck in opensent. What could be the cause?
 I got a BGP tunnel for IPv6 and IPv4 prefix from a tunnelbroker. The tunnel is correctly
configured, both IPv4 and IPv6 endpoints are pingable. Firewall is configured for BGP.

The IPv6 BGP session works and announces my IPv6 prefix. However, although I have
selected both ip and ipv6 in the address families, it only announces my IPv6 prefix and
not also my IPv4 prefix.

The IPv4 BGP session does not work and is always stuck at "opensent". The config is
identical to the IPv6 version and there is literally nothing left I could imagine being an
issue.

What on earth could I still try?

For reference this is my config:

5 Mikrotik Forums and having posts approved
 I have an issue getting a hEX Lite router to connect to an OpenVPN server and thought I'd
post a question to the Mikrotik Forums. (I will post it here too later).

However, having joined the forums, I found that the post I wrote was not able to be
published until a Mod approved it, perfectly normal for a new poster to avoid spam. The
problem is that no Mods appear to have looked at it for days, even when I reported my
own post asking for a Mod review and publish.

My question is whether this delay is normal for the Mikrotik Forums or whether it
indicates some sort of problem?
