 First aid is the first and immediate assistance given to
any person suffering from either a minor or serious illness
or injury, with care provided to preserve life, prevent the
condition from worsening, or to promote recovery.

 It includes initial intervention in a serious condition prior to


professional medical help being available (performing CPR
while waiting for an ambulance), as well as complete
treatment of minor conditions (applying a plaster to a cut).

 First aid is generally performed by someone with basic


medical training.

 Place the affected area under cool running
water (15 mins-1hr)
 Take a cool shower (in severe case)
 Immediately transfer to nearby healthcare
facility

 Pressure Bandage
 Do not apply tourniquet unless you are authorized
 Immediately transfer to nearby healthcare facility

 Lean forward and release the accumulated blood
 Gurgle with ice-cold water
 Compression/Pressure Bandage
 Immediately transfer to nearby healthcare facility

 Cold Compression (for pain and swelling)
 Clean the open wound with fresh water and cover
with dry dressing
 Support and splint the injured area
 Immediately transfer to nearby healthcare facility

 Transfer to a well-ventilated area
 Check Consciousness, Breathing, Pulse, Blood

 Lay down on a rug or blanket, elevate the legs

 Provide emergency medication (only if suggested by
doctor)
 Immediately transfer to nearby healthcare facility
