What is water?
Water (chemical formula H2O) is an inorganic, transparent,
tasteless, odorless, and nearly colorless chemical substance,
which is the main constituent of Earth's hydrosphere and the
fluids of all known living organisms. Water is also a
macronutrient in the sense that the body needs it in large
amounts, but unlike the other macronutrients, it does not
contain carbon or yield energy.

Functions of water
 Regulates body temperature
 Moistens tissues in the eyes, nose and mouth
 Protects body organs and tissues such as the
 Carries nutrients and oxygen to cells
 Lessens burden the on kidneys and liver by flushing out
waste products
 Helps dissolve minerals and nutrients to make them
accessible to your body
 It helps create saliva
 It helps prevent constipation
 It helps excrete waste through perspiration, urination, and
defecation.
 It helps with nutrient absorption
 It helps fight off illnesses such as hypertension and kidney
stones
 Prevents dehydration

Diseases
1.Dehydration
 Dehydration occurs when you use or lose more fluid
than you take in, and your body doesn't have enough
water and other fluids to carry out its normal functions.
If you don't replace lost fluids, you will get dehydrated.

Symptoms of dehydration
 Sunken eyes, cheeks
 Sunken soft spot on top of skull
 Listlessness or irritability
 Extreme thirst
 Less frequent urination
 Dark-colored urine
 Fatigue
 Dizziness
 Confusion

Complications caused by Dehydration

 Urinary and kidney problems. Prolonged or repeated
bouts of dehydration can cause urinary tract infections,
kidney stones and even kidney failure.
 Low blood volume shock (hypovolemic shock). This is
one of the most serious, and sometimes life-threatening,
complications of dehydration. It occurs when low blood
volume causes a drop in blood pressure and a drop in the
amount of oxygen in your body.

Sources of Fiber
1.Beans
2.Whole Grains
3.Brown Rice
4.Nuts
5.Oatmeal
6.Avocados
7.Beets

What is Fiber
Fiber, dietary or roughage is the portion of plant-derived food
that cannot be completely broken down by human digestive
enzymes.

Functions of Fiber
 Normalizes bowel movements
 Lowers cholesterol levels
 Helps control blood sugar levels
Helps prevent the development of colored talent cancer

Diseases
Diverticulitis
 Diverticulosis is a condition that occurs when small
pouches, or sacs, form and push outward through weak
spots in the wall of your colon

Colon caner
