HISTORY OF BNHS
With the outbreak of the Corona Virus-19, the city government of Malaybalay declared
the modified general community quarantine following guidelines on social distancing and other
safety measures to avoid community transmission of the virus, which also prompted the
schools to develop their initiatives in addressing the problem. With this new normal, Bukidnon
National High School, designed a learning continuity plan which always anchor on the SIP that
aims to ensure strong advocacy, professional culture, continuous improvement of teachers, and
results-oriented team that address and tailor fit the knowledge, level of skills and abilities of the
9,583 students enrolled and their capability with the new normal learning modality.
Furthermore, the school, regardless of students’ level of accessibility on internet connectivity
and other medium will cater all students in any means and ways of distance learning and other
alternative modes of learning.
The BNHS Advisory Council crafted a SIP adjustment based on the new normal due to
pandemic. It also provides opportunities of continuous improvement of teaching expertise for
the 357 teachers in BNHS, who will be trained and equipped with skills necessary for developing
new normal instructional learning resources and virtual environment before its
implementation. Consultation, consensus and stakeholders’ involvement on the preparation of
the schools’ infrastructures, the policies on online learning and distance learning, updates and
induction of parents on the new normal learning set-up, and other alternative delivery modes
will be carried out by the school to secure that all activities, may it be online, modular or
distance learning are aligned with the standards set before by the department of education
without compromising quality education and safety of the learners. Finally, sustainable
monitoring, evaluation, plans for adjustment and progress reports will be upheld for future
adjustment to this new normal scenario of the school’s academic community.
Mam Susan our principal, breaks the Advisory council into groups and give them time
to make adjustment on learning environment, time management on modules, human
resources, and school scheduling brought by the pandemic. She wants to insure the safety of
the students as well as the parents in entering the school premise.
