Intel Entry Server Board SE7221BK1-E Product Family Overview

The Intel SE7221BK1-E product family consists of four production board skus and an integrated 1U sku known as
the Intel Server Platform SR1425BK1-E. This configuration guide describes the following production board and
chassis skus which are being offered as part of the SE7221BK1-E product family;
a) SE7221BK1 – Boxed board (base sku) with a single Intel GbE controller
b) SE7221BK1LX – Boxed board with dual Intel GbE controller and support for the Intel® Adaptive Slot
c) BBKBB – OEM 10-pack (base sku) with a single Intel GbE controller
d) BBKBBLX – OEM 10-pack (LX SKU) board with dual Intel GbE controller and support for the Intel®
Adaptive Slot.
e) SR1425BK1 – Integrated 1U server platform (See SR1425BK1-E Configuration Overview Section below
for more information)

Note the Intel® Adaptive Slot with the SE7221BK1LX sku supports either a single PCI-E x8 or Riser Connector
for PCI-E X8 or PCI-X 100

SE7221BK1-E Product Family Board Configuration Overview

This section contains information needed to order and configure a production Server Board SE7221BK1-E with a
Server Chassis SC5250-E or a third party chassis.
1. The SE7221BK1-E product family is offered in four production board configurations;
a) SE7221BK1 – Boxed board (base configuration: Parallel ATA and Serial ATA device support)
b) SE7221BK1LX – Boxed board base configuration with dual GbE Intel controller and support for the Intel ®
Adaptive slot
c) BBKBB – OEM 10-pack (10-pack of boards; base configuration)
d) BBKBBLX – OEM 10-pack (10-pack of boards; base configuration with dual Intel GbE and support for the
Intel Adaptive Slot)

2. The production Boxed Server Board SE7221BK1 contains the following:

a. One Intel Entry Server Board SE7221BK1 (base configuration)
b. Quick Start User Guide
c. 2 CD-ROMs with Intel Server Management 8.x software, software drivers, configuration tools, and
technical product information
d. Two Serial ATA cables
e. One floppy-drive cable
f. One ATA/66/100 drive cable
g. ATX 2.01–compliant I/O shield and gasket
h. Configuration label, stickers and back-panel label

3. The production Boxed Server Board SE7221BK1LX contains the identical accessories following to the boxed
SE7221BK1 listed above in section 2:
4. The Intel Entry Server Board SE7221BK1-E has been validated with the following Intel chassis:
• Intel Server Chassis SC5250-E

5. The Intel Entry Server Board SE7221BK1-E is also validated with a number of third party pedestal and
high-density chassis. Please see the SE7221BK1-E section of support.intel.com (post launch) and the
product snapshot updates (pre-launch) for the latest reference chassis list and information.

Intel Server Platform SR1425BK1-E Configuration Overview

This section contains ordering and configuration information for the Intel Server Platform SR1425BK1-E. This is an
Intel designed and integrated 1U high density platform consisting of an SE7221BK1-E family server board and an
Intel 1U enclosure which is designed only to be supported and offered to customers as the Intel Server Platform
SR1425BK1 product sku.
Note: Intel is not offering a stand alone SR1425-E chassis sku for the SE7221BK1-E product family. Customers
configuring with third party high density chassis solutions should order one of the four SE7221BK1-E board
configurations described in the previous section (See section 1 of the SE7221BK1-E Board Configuration
Overview)
One Integrated 1U sku will be made available for production -- The Intel Server Platform SE1425BK1-E will come
with the following key features;

• One Intel SE7221BK1LX Baseboard

• One 300W Power Supply

• Five High Performance Fans

• Support for up to three fixed SATA drives (fixed drive support capable without required accessories)

• SATA backplane with 3 hard drive carriers (optional SATA backplane available as an additional
accessory)

• SCSI backplane with 3 hard drive carriers (optional SCSI backplane available as an additional
accessory)

• CD and Floppy tray assemblies

• Front panel board assembly and 34-pin front panel cable

• Three fixed hard drive carriers

• PCI bracket assembly and filler panel

• Intel 1U Heatsink and backplate

• Rack handle set, front panel board, duct/baffle

• 3 SATA Cables, floppy cable and CDROM 80-pin cable

• Quick Start Guide and labels

• Chassis intrusion switch

• Optional Accessory: Full height PCI-Express riser card

Note: The Intel Server Platform SR1425BK1-E does not ship with a CPU, HDD, memory, floppy drive or CD
drive populated. CD and floppy drives can be ordered from the SR1425BK1-E accessory list below.
