Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of schools as

places of learning
1) Advantages:
Schools, as learning places have many advantages. Students can learn many things from their
friends. They can learn about the world outside home. They get to interact with different people
from different places around the world through many programmes.
Students, when at school, engage in numerous activities which helps
them sharpen their skills. However, if they are home schooled, they
will not have the advantage of peer learning. Schools also help
students build confidence and teach them about teamwork. They
guide youngsters through the establishment of a daily routine which,
in the future, will make them a better person. Students learn many
important values of life such as gratitude, empathy, responsibility,
respect and so on. Their mentors at school prepare them for further
education and provide them with enough knowledge by the time
students finish school.

Disadvantages:
Increased noise levels in schools lead to lesser concentration in academics and other activities. Some
people use cars and bikes to travel to school. They use fuel to run the car and the amount of fuel
consumption increases since they use more fuel than usual while travelling to school. If fuel
consumption increases, the amount of money they use increases. However, if students are home
schooled, they will save fuel as well as money. Also, at schools, teachers tend to pay more attention
to excellent students and not the ones who need to improve. Sometimes, students make friendship
with the wrong people and this friendship might affect their academics and it might disturb their
mental health. In schools, some students boss over the others and the students who are being
bossed over get tired of it and go in the wrong way. They change their behaviour and they join the
people who bully the others. Sometimes, students can also get tired of teachers giving them work
and they might go on the wrong path to get rid of the work they do.
