1 PURPOSE OF MANUAL
This documentation is valid for the wall stand BuckyDiagnost VS.
(Fig. 1-1)
NOTE The wall stand BuckyDiagnost can be used in the systems BuckyDiagnost,
DigitalDiagnost, Eleva systems and as replacement for existing BuckyDiagnost VE/
VT wall stands.
The wall stand types VS basic, VS advanced (tilting) and VS digital prepared (tilting) are equipped with the
Bucky unit 2 cassette sensing/non-sensing and used in BuckyDiagnost systems.
The wall stand types VS digital (tilting) are equipped with the Bucky unit 2 digital (detector) and used in
DigitalDiagnost systems.
The wall stand types VS basic and VS advanced are equipped with the Bucky unit 2 cassette sensing/non-sens‐
ing and used in Eleva systems or for replacement of existing wall stands BuckyDiagnost VE/VT.
2 COMPATIBILITY
The items listed are compatible with the BuckyDiagnost VS. For further information refer to the PMS/Siebel cata‐
logue or instructions for use.

To be arranged locally: Mounting bolts for the fixation of the wall holder. See the static calcula‐
tion in the room planning.
Anchor bolts for the fixaton of the column on the floor. See the static cal‐
culation in the room planning.
– The cable ducts and cable conduits are installed already and have the required dimensions.
– The doorways must be sufficient to pass through with the BuckyDiagnost VS column and
vertical/tiltable bucky unit.
– The room needs to be clean.
The column must be fixed to the floor with three screws. The floor mounting points have to be suitable for ten‐
sile strength of Fs ≥ 500 N each screw.
– Fixation of the column without wall holder (Stand-alone version with floor fixing device)
The column can be mounted to the floor without using a wall holder. In this case a floor fixing device (9890 010
8421x) has to be attached to the column. The two floor fixing devices must be fixed with two screws each, the
floor mounting points have to be suitable for tensile strength of Fs ≥ 3000 N each screw.
The column must be fixed to the floor with three screws additionally. The floor mounting points have to be suita‐
ble for tensile strength of Fs ≥ 3000 N each screw.
NOTE For the fixation of the column at the floor the max. available height between the col‐
umn base plate and the bottom side of the counterweight carriage is 35 mm.
counterweight carriage
max. 35mm

(Fig. 1-2)
The interface cables between the wall stand and other system components (e.g. generator, table) are connect‐
ed to the wall connection box. The cable outlets for flush-mounted cabling are either located in the upper area
or in the lower area of the wall junction box (see mechanical drawings Z-4.2; Z-4.5; Z-7.1).
For surface-mounted cabling the cable duct should end at either the top side or at the bottom side of the wall
connection box. In this case an adequate area of the cover has to be cut off (see mechanical drawing Z-7.1)
The length of the cables measured from the wall connection box is 20 m except two 30 m cables for
BuckyDiagnost VS digital (fiber–optic and communication).
For this version the wall connection box is fixed on the rear side of the column. The cable outlet has to be car‐
ried out in the floor on the rear side of the column.
4 SAFETY INFORMATION
The general legal and factory safety recommendations for this X–ray equipment and the following recommenda‐
tions must be strictly observed!
Start of installation, operation and maintenance work and especially electrical work must only be executed by
trained and authorized persons. This equipment must only be serviced by properly educated service specialists
who have received general and system–specific training as performed by Philips Medical Systems.
5 COMPLIANCE INFORMATION
2. The device needs to accept any interferences received, including interferences that may cause undesired
operation.
For class B digital device or peripheral, the instructions provided to the user shall include the following or similar
statement, placed in a prominent location in the text of the manual.
NOTE The equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a class B digi‐
tal device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to pro‐
vide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation.
This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not
installed and used in accordance with the instruction, may cause harmful intererence
to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not oc‐
cur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to
radio or televisions reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off
and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of
the following measures:
Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
Increase the separation between equipment and receiver.
Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the re‐
ceiver is connected.
Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.

Adjustment procedure:
If the Bucky module is moving or is not horizontal, the buffer at the tilting unit rear side can be adjusted. If an
adjustment is necessary carry out the following steps:
0911-24-01
(Fig. 3-7)
NOTE The buffer has been secured with Loctite 222 by the supplier. Set the pliers as close
as possible to the threaded bolt when removing the buffer. This avoids damage to
the buffer.
0911-24-01
(Fig. 3-8)
▪ Repeat this procedure until the Bucky module is leveled out in the 90° position.
▪ Clean the buffer and apply Loctite to the threaded bolt.
▪ Install the buffer.
