Pegg,Robin S - Assessment of Student Learning
Plan approved by Associate Dean.
Plan
Year 2 of the following project:
Project Title: Impact & Effectiveness of Level 1 Fieldwork Redesign (OT 220)
Background: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic there is a significant shortage of community-based clinical fieldwork sites. Numbers of placements for
Level 1 fieldwork experiences were insufficient to meet the needs of our current cohorts of students. In order to prevent interruption of student progress,
the Level 1 fieldwork class (OT 220) was redesigned over the summer to be completed "in-house" but still meet accreditation standards.
Brief Description: Gather data to achieve the following: Quantitative Analysis: Compare Level 2 student performance outcomes to previous classes; this
will provide insight as to the impact of this change on student performance overall. Qualitative Analysis: Using survey data from students and Level 2
fieldwork educators; discover themes regarding the impact & effectiveness on student's clinical reasoning; clinical & professional skill development and
student's overall satisfaction with the educational experience.
Timeline: Implementation Fall 2020 - Surveys completed Winter 2021 - Analysis Summer 2021 **This project should run a minimum of 2 years in order
to accumulate enough data to ensure validity. Cycle is then repeated for year 2 with surveys completed Winter 2022 and analysis Summer 2022
Outcomes Being Assessed: Student compentency on accreditation standards; fieldwork educator's analysis of the effectiveness of the programming
change; student satisfaction with the educational experience.
Type of Project: Department/ Curriculum Development

Pegg,Robin S - Substantive Project
Plan approved by Associate Dean.
Plan
Project Title: OTA Program Format Delivery Revision
Purpose: The purpose of this substantive project spanning two years is to support our department in identifying and then transitioning appropriate
courses to online or hybrid formats permanently.
Description: Traditionally 100% of OTA program courses and labs have been delivered in a traditional on campus in person format. In response to
recent circumstances all courses have been transitioned to online or hybrid formats to allow continued program progression. Student and advisory board
feedback and outcomes including the board exam and fieldwork performance indicate that these delivery format changes have been highly effective. It
also reduces the number of days students are physically on campus providing greater flexibility for student schedules and a greater ability of the program
to respond to external circumstances without interruption to student progression.
Timeline:
Summer 2021: Identify courses to be transitioned. Any program faculty not currently OH certified to complete certification course.
Fall 2021: Participating in completing online course requests and content development/revision for courses to be delivered in Winter 2022 semester.
OT 109: Therapeutic Intervention 2 (Hybrid) Lecture online, lab in person.
OT 110: Disabling Conditions (Hybrid)
Winter 2022: Participating in completing online course requests and content development/revision for courses to be delivered in Fall 2022 semester.
OT 108: Therapeutic Interventions 1 (Hybrid) Lecture online, lab in person
Summer 2022: Participating in completing remaining online course requests and content development/revision for courses to be delivered in Fall 2022
semester.
OT 214: Kinesiology in OT (Hybrid)
OT 224: Fieldwork Integration 1 (Hybrid)
OT 235: Fieldwork Integration 2 (Hybrid)
