Process:
1. Combine ingredients of Phase A into a high-shear mixer. Mix at high sped for 30 minutes. Scrape mixer
sides and mix at high speed for an additional 15 minutes. (If desired, pigments may first be pre-dispersed in talc
through a hammer mill.)
2. Spray the liquid ingredients of Phase B into powders in mixer. Mix for 30 minutes at medium speed.
3. Face powder may now be sifted through a screen of chosen size mesh and then pressed into pans.

Process:
1. Pre-mill pigments together with talc in Phase A through a hammer mill. (Screen opening 0.20)
2. Using a homogenizing mixer, combine milled dry color pre-mix (Phase A) to ingredients of Phase B. Heat to
80°C under homogenizer.
3. Add Phase C in order. Maintain temperature at 80°C while mixing.
4. Add Phase D, sequentially, while mixing.
5. Combine ingredients in oil phase (Phase E) in a separate mixer. Mix and melt with sweep action. Heat to
80°C.
6. When both phases are homogenous and both are at 80°C, add oil phase (Phase E) to water phase (Parts A
through D), under homogenizing agitation for proper emulsification.
7. Cool to less than 45°C to fill.

Process:
1) Add ingredients of Phase A to the mixer and mix at medium speed at room temperature.
2) Solubilise the dry ingredient into Propylene Glycol, creating individual pre-mixes of Phases B and C. Once
homogenous, add pre-mixed Phases B and C to Phase A.
3) Turn heat on and under medium speed, heat solution to 80°C.
4) Add TEA to mixture under agitation, maintaining temperature at 80°C.
5) Add ingredients of Phase E, maintaining medium speed and temperature of 85°C.
6) Separately, add ingredients of the oil Phase F. Heat to melt, and mix at low speed, bringing temperature to 85°C.
7) When both Phases are homogenous and both are at the temperature of 80°C, add oil Phase F to the Water
Phase (Phases A through E) under homogenizing agitation for proper emulsification. Mix / homogenize for 30
minutes at 80°C.
8) Allow the product to slowly cool to 50°C. Add in Phase G under slow sweep.
9) Continue to cool batch to 30°C, then to fill.

1) To main mixing vessel, add Part A. Mix and heat to 80°C. Mix until uniform and solution is clear.
2) Add and disperse preservatives (Part B) to the melted and mixed Part A in mixer.
Mix until homogenous, maintaining temperature at 80°C.
3) Incrementally add in Part C (Wax Dispersions) slowly mixing with sweeps until homogenous.
Maintain temperature at 80°C while mixing.
4) Gently fold in part D using a sweeping mixing action.
5) When homogenous, cool batch to 50-55°C to fill pans.

Process:
1) To main mixing vessel, add Part A. Mix and heat to 85°C. Mix until uniform and solution is clear.
2) Add and disperse preservatives (Part B) into the melted and mixed Part A in mixer.
Mix until homogenous, maintaining temperature at 85°C.
3) Incrementally add in Part C (Wax Dispersions) slowly mixing with sweeps until homogenous.
Maintain temperature at 85°C while mixing.
4) Incrementally add in powders in part D using a sweeping mixing action.
5) When homogenous, cool batch to 50-55°C to fill pans.

1. Combine Phase A except for the pigment and heat to 80-85°C. When temperature is reached, homogenize
mixture, slowly adding pigments.
2. Combine Phase C and heat to 80-85°C. Slowly add to Phase A. Mix Phases A-C for 5 min.
3. Add Phase B to Phases A-C and homogenize for 15 min on medium speed while cooling.
4. At 60°C transfer batch to tank equipped with a double-action, side-sweep agitator.
5. Mix and cool to room temperature and fill.

Process:
1) Add each ingredient of Phase A in order into mixer heating to 80°C under medium speed
until each is well dispersed and homogenous.
2) In separate mixer combine the ingredients of Phase B. Heat to 80°C and stir with medium agitation.
3) Slowly add Phase B to Phase A under high shear to emulsify, maintaining temperature at 80°C.
Mix for 30 minutes. Cool to 50°C. Continue to cool to 40°C with slow sidesweep mixing.

Phase B – Solvent
Weigh the isododecane and disperse the Bentone 38 in it
Add propylene carbonate to neutralize
Heat at 80°C and add Antaron V216
Under stirring add the Alumina Hydrate and pigment, disperse while maintaining the temperature
Phase C – Water
Weigh water and propylene glycol and disperse the borax
Heat at 80°C
Process:
1. When A and B are at 80°C, add A into B under mixing
2. When C is at 80°C, add into (A+B) to emulsify under mixing and homogenize
3. Allow for cooling under slow agitation
4. Stop the agitation around 40°C and allow cooling at room temperature

Under stirring add the Alumina Hydrate and pigment, disperse while maintaining the temperature
Phase C – Water
Weigh water and propylene glycol and disperse the borax
Heat at 80°C
Process:
1. When A and B are at 80°C, add A into B under mixing
2. When C is at 80°C, add into (A+B) to emulsify under mixing and homogenize
3. Allow for cooling under slow agitation
4. Stop the agitation around 40°C and allow cooling at room temperature

1. Weigh in and melt into a mixer the ingredients in Phase A. Heat to 85°C while mixing with slow sweep.
2. Once melted to a clear liquid, add the dry materials in Phase B, mixing continuously and slowly, to not

3. Once batch is homogenous, remove liquid / molten product from mixer and disperse through 3-roll mill
until pigments are fully dispersed.
4. Allow mass to cool to 25°C.
5. Product is ready to extrude into pencil cores.

Process:
1. Disperse Hydrated Magnesium Aluminum Silicate Mineral into water, heated to 40°C to facilitate
dispersion. Using high-shear mixing, mix until smooth. Then, add Tromethamine to previous phase.
2. Add Xanthan Gum dispersed into Propylene Glycol and Phenonip and mix until smooth. Heat this mixture to
75° ± 5°C.
3. In a support vessel, heat Stearic Acid, Glyceryl Stearate and Oleyl Alcohol to 75° ± 5°C with gentle
stirring.
4. Add this phase to the first one with gentle agitation (around 1500-2000 rpm), maintaining temperature at 75°
± 5°C, to stabilize the emulsion.
5. After a few minutes, add SunSHINE® effect pigment with gentle agitation.
Then, maintain constant agitation and cool batch to 35° ± 5°C; store or fill into appropriate containers.

Process:
1) Weigh in and melt in mixer the ingredients in Part I – Oil Phase. Heat to 80°C while mixing with slow sweep.
2) In the mean time, in a separate heated mixing vessel weigh in the ingredients of Part II-Water Phase (A).
Mix bringing the liquid to 75°C.
3) Add the ingredients of Part II (B) to Part II (A). Mix until homogenous at 75°C.
4) In a third vessel, weigh in and mix the ingredients of Part II (C), heating to 75°C.
When part II (C) is homogenous and to temperature, add Part II (C) to the premixed Part II (A) and (B).
Mix with high shear to emulsify and homogenize.
5) When Part II – Water Phase is homogenous and is still heated to 75°C add the Part II – Water Phase to the Part I – Oil
Phase under constant mixing and agitation. When mass is homogenous, allow to cool to 60°C and pour into moulds which
are at room temperature. Chill mould quickly, release pomades and insert into airtight lipstick components.

1. Premix pigments and citric acid into sufficient castor oil (Part A) and disperse through 3-roll mill twice.
2. Mix and melt all wax and oil ingredients (Part B), heating to 80-85C.

4. Add pre-milled pigment / citric acid / castor oil from step 1. Mix until homogenous.
5. Cool batch to 55-60C and pour into molds.

Process:
1. Weigh into mixer, melt and slowly mix with slow sweep the wax and oil ingredients. Heat to 85C.
2. Once waxes and oils are fully melted to a clear liquid, slowly add in the hydrated silica, the mica and the
pigments.
3. Continuously mix slowly until batch is homogenous in appearance.
4. Remove the mass from the mixer and disperse the entire batch through the 3-roll mill.
5. Mass may be stored in sealed containers at 25C.
6. Return mass to a mixer or a heated filling hopper. Bring to a melt and maintain heat at 60-70C.
Dispense and pour to mold.

Process:
Part A
1. In a jacketed stainless steel mixer, add the indicated amount of water in Part A.
2. Begin mixer at 100%. Slowly add the PVA 205S to the water. Lower mix speed to 50%. Mix for 45 minutes.
3. Turn off the mixer and allow the solution to sit an de-aerate. This may take 8-12 hours.
Part B
1. Begin to heat the batch to 80-85C, keeping mixing speed at 30%.
2. When batch reaches 60C, add Part B ingredients. Continue to heat to 80-85C.
3. When batch reaches 80-85C, increase mixing speed to 60%. Mix for 45 minutes, ensuring all raw materials
have dissolved (no visible lumps).
Part C
1. In a separate vessel, add the amount of water indicated in Part C.
2. Begin mixing at 50% speed. Add in the PVP K30. Mix for 30 minutes.
3. Allow batch A-B to cool to 75C. Then add Part C to Part A-B. (Foaming will result)
Part D
1. Cool batch to 50C and add Part D to the main mixer and mix for 10 minutes.
Part E
1. In a separate vessel again, add the indicated amount of water in Part E. Add the Carbopol 940 and mix at
50% speed until homogenous.
2. Add this phase to the main mixer. Mix for 10 minutes and cool batch to 45C.
Part F
1. Premix the Diazolidinyl Urea in the required amount of water.
2. Add the premix to the main batch under slow sweep and cool to 38C.
Part G
1. When the batch has reached 38C, slowly mix in desired pearl mica. Mix slowly with sweep until batch is
homogenous, approximately 30-40 minutes.
2. Cool batch to 30C. Pump into polyethylene lined fiber drums to fill components.
