FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT 3
Objectives:
Background:
A roof plan is a scaled drawing or diagram of a proposed roof development containing dimensions of the
entire roof structure, including shape, size, design and placement of all materials, ventilation, drainage, slopes,
valleys and more.
Your task is to copy the given figure/ illustration and familiarized yourself in the different types of line
that you have drawn and the principles of drafting/ planning or making a roof plan. Apply the all the foundation
principles of manual drafting.
Instructions:
1. Draft a title block on your 15” x 20” plain paper. For the standard title block template for the course,
please refer to the Course Information Booklet (CIB). Please note that in any case the required paper
size is not available in your area, do use any approved equivalent.
2. Draft the roof. Copy the illustration given.
3. Proper graphic standards must be followed: Proper lettering, proper line types, line weights, lettering,
and dimensioning.
4. Use scale 1:100 in drafting the roof.
1. Using architectural lettering, define each type of line and illustrate each on the 8 boxes provided in the
given illustration. You may copy the reference.
2. Remember to use a standard of 3 mm lettering height for callouts and labels as well as sentences.
3. Use 5 mm height for drawing title and 3mm height for scale 1:100 mts.
4. The height of the 8 equal boxes is (3.5cm) 35mm to (4.5cm) 45mm.
