    Linux is a family of open-source Unix-like operating systems based on


    the Linux kernel. It's a computer operating system and the platform for commercial
    networking devices, but it's also a key component of enterprise infrastructure. Linux is a tried-
    and-true open-source operating system for computers that was first launched in 1991. Since
    then, it has extended to include systems for autos, phones, web servers, and, more recently,
    networking gear.

    The 10 ways Linux is better, the first is Freedom. There is no need to


    buy Linux because it is free thanks to Linux foundations such as Intel, Google, and Microsoft.
