    DISCUSSION:
    “The beginning of wisdom is the defi nition of terms.” -Socrates In order to acquire knowledge and wisdom, one must have
    the ability to defi ne terms or concepts correctly. Since lack of clarity in meaning can hinder good reasoning, writing a
    correct and clear defi nition is very important in establishing eff ective communication.
    1. Guidelines for Writing Formal Definition In order to write grammatically correct definition of terms, the following
    guidelines or formats for each part of the definition must be considered. Take note that applying the rules of
    subject and verb agreement is also important.

    Directions: Write the word Correct if the underlined part of the definition is grammatically correct. If it is wrong, give the
    correct form. Write your answers on a separate sheet of paper.
