As our graduation ceremony draws to a close, how about another round of applause to our graduates.

Graduates, today we celebrate you, we celebrate your hard work and I want to congratulate you all.

But I want you to reflect that there are important people around you that are part of your success now.
Take a look at your parents, family and relatives who are here and always there to push you and believe
in you despite this new way of schooling.

To your teachers who are always there to teach you not only academic wise, but in becoming a better
person. Your success is a sign of thanking them.

To your admins and non-teaching staff headed by our president Engr. Antonio Avellanosa Jr. and the
school directress, Mrs. Herminia F. Avellanosa. Our supportive assistant directress Mrs. Christine
Catabas and our school principal Mrs Mary Rose Avellanosa. Please say thanks to them and to our kuya’s
when you see them later.

Ladies and gentlemen, a pleasant morning to all of you.

I have some few words to all of you especially to our graduates today. Again, Grade 6 graduates, you
have my congratulations with you. As you are now graduates of elementary and as you proceed to the
next chapter of your lives, which is the high school life, I offer the following ingredients that you can use
as you go on with your lives pursuing your dreams. I offer 3 things to ponder on. Listen carefully
graduates, me oral recitation kayo mamaya.

First is change. Change will become a very part of your life. Embrace change, accept change. As you now
progress into becoming a teenager, there will be a lot of changes around you and deep inside you.
Change is unavoidable but face it head front with the right values like resilience and courage. Be brave
and take risks, and don’t let the fear of failure stop you. Failure is a part of life. It’s another way to learn.
Just like change. At times it’s frightening, but you should see it as a chance to explore, and to test your
limits. Remember the saying “If you say I can’t, you will be a failure in everything, but when you say I
will, you will be success in everything.”

We all managed to survive and excel in this new modality of learning that is all new to us. You adapt to
change and learn from your mistakes. Just always remember, failure should never stop you in
transforming and changing you become a better person everyday.

The second point is in connection to the first point, the change, bear in mind that you have the power to
be that positive change in this fast-paced world. Please take care of your generation as we are now in
the era of distorted truth. Always stand in the side of the real truth. 5-7 years from now, you will be in
college. 10 years from now you may be working but during those times, learn to educate yourself,
master your talents and strengths God gave you. Be curious all the time and broaden your knowledge by
reading as much as you can. Always appreciate your studies as part of your lifetime learning. And I
encourage you to use that learning to leave every situation better than it was before. Only then that you
can truly become a positive changer in yourself and in our society at large. It’s also the key to your
success in taking care of your generation.

The third and final point is the game changer of it all and the most important of all. It is CHRIST. The first
2 points will be put to waste if your life is not anchored on JESUS CHRIST. Whatever you do, do it all for
the glory of God. Just like what your teachers at Marriott School are teaching you. Let your life be
CHRIST-centered. Never forget our CHRIST core values which is also anchored on JESUS CHRIST and let
them be your guide always. That’s C for compassion, H for humility, R for responsibility I for integrity, S
for simplicity and T for trust. Baka lang nakalimutan nyo. By doing this and reaching your dreams with
the right values, you really appreciate the hardworks your teachers spent with you daily. By having a
values-oriented lifestyle, you are on your way to becoming a person of character Never forget that
CHRIST is really the game changer of it all especially His resurrection.

So, 3 points – what are those? accept change, be a positive change in your generation, and have a
CHRIST-centered life. Ayan pwede na kayo gumraduate talaga?

Moving on, let’s take this opportunity to thank these people who were with us and made this school
year a success.

Of course, let’s start with God. Although we’ve been through hard times, He never leave us and always
there to guide us. To God be the glory always.

To our parents, our partners who are always there to trust and support Marriott School. Your continued
patronage with us motivates us to excel more. Marriott School is not perfect but we assure you that we

year for the high school education of your children.

Teachers, thank you for your commitment always to teach and learn. Your responsibility with your
students are truly manifested within the school year.

To the non-teaching staff who are always there for your records. They are working very hard behind the
scenes.

To my fellow admins headed by the school president, engr. Antonio avellanosa jr together with the
directress mrs herminia avellanosa. Thank you for always there mentoring us and sharing your wisdom
with us. To our assistant directress mrs Christine catabas and mrs mary rose avellanosa, our school
principal – thank you for always supporting our teachers and always enhancing and be update with the
latest strategies to be at par with the 21 st century education.

And of course with you grade 6, despite difficult times, you managed to strive hard and push yourself to
excel in this online learning.

The people mentioned above are your Marriott School family, your caring family. We are all in this
together.

And I guess I’ll end my closing remarks there and leaving you with a quotation I heard from Fr. Dave:

“If you want to walk fast, walk alone, if you want to walk far, walk together, but if you want to reach
your destiny, walk with the right people.”

Again, good morning to all of you

Your teachers are happy seeing you attain

But even though you memorize it, the real challenge is how you are living it from now on til the rest of
your lives. That’s why I am encouraging you to always do what CHRIST commanded. Love God and will
always be your guide is no How can you adapt to change and how can you become a positive changer?
It all boils down to the game changer of it all. CHRIST. All our efforts to change for the better will

we shIn this times of uncertainty and and as we emerged from this crisis

and let’s name them C plus C. first is C as change, second is plus or positive sign and third is C for Christ.
Let me start with the first. Like ive said, c for change. As you progress in life or as you Let’s name it for
success – things I have observed in people I’ve known and worked with over the years.

First, integrity: If you carry out your responsibilities consistently, to the best of your ability, people will
trust you as a colleague, and turn to you for leadership.

Above all, enjoy what you do. Take pleasure and satisfaction in what you achieve. Along with the
personal characteristics I’ve mentioned above, this is the key to a happy life.

Graduates – and now, my fellow alumni of the University of Toronto: Congratulations! You have worked
hard. You deserve to be proud of this achievement, and to take this opportunity to celebrate.

Good luck, and good health to all of you.
