    C. Motivation

     The teacher will show a box which will be called as “facebox”.


     Inside the box, there are emoticons and each emoticon there is a written mood (Ex. happy, sad, shock) where the students who
    will be called will pose or express it in front of the class without uttering words.
     According to Firestone (2021), the word emoticons is the combination of ~'emotions~' and ~'icons~'; they are symbols grouped
    together to convey emotions, like a smiley face made out of punctuation.
     The students will guess the mood that was performed by their classmates.
     The teacher will tell that the lesson has something to do with the game.

    D. Presentation

     The teacher will show a short video about a “deaf and mute father and his daughter”.
     The students will be asked some questions about the video.
     The teacher will tell that the video is also related to the lesson for today.
     The students will be asked to rearrange the jumbled letters to form a group of words which is the topic for today.
     When the students have already formed the correct word, the teacher will introduce the topic.
     The students will be asked to give the definition of Non-verbal communication

     Hall, 2021 states that non-verbal communication refers to the ways in which beings convey information about their emotions,
    needs, intentions, attitudes, and thoughts without the use of verbal language.

    E. Discussion

     The teacher will discuss non-verbal communication


     The teacher will also discuss the basic non-verbal cues in communication
     Facial expressions
     Body language
     Eye-contact
     Hand-gestures
     The teacher will act an example for each type of non-verbal cue, and students will tell what it means or what it expresses.
     For each type of non-verbal cues, the teacher will show three pictures, and the students will identify/determine the meaning of
    the non-verbal cues that were shown.
     The percentage of sources in communication by Dr. Albert Mehrabian will be shown by the teacher.
     The teacher will ask the students to explain on how to interpret a “pie chart” in which it is also used in their Mathematics subject.
     The teacher will ask the learners to interpret the given pie chart.
     The teacher will discuss the pie chart for the learners’ better understanding. (Mathematics Integration)

    F. Generalization

     The students will be asked to restate the meaning of non-verbal communication


     The students will state the importance of non-verbal cues in communication
     The teacher will state the importance of non-verbal cues in communication for a clearer discussion
     Your nonverbal communication cues—the way you listen, look, move, and react—tell the person you’re communicating with
    whether or not you care, if you’re being truthful, and how well you’re listening. When your nonverbal signals match up with the
    words you’re saying, they increase trust, clarity, and rapport (Segal et.al, 2020).

    G. Valuing

     The students will be asked on how they will value the love of their father, and how they will show their love for their father.
     The teacher will give additional discussion on how a child will show their love for their father through actions.

     Popova, 2013 states that “Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get — only with what you are expecting to give
    — which is everything.”

    IV. Evaluation

    In a ½ cross-wise sheet of paper, the students will make a 5-sentence realization about the video that they have watched, and another 5-
    sentence realization about non-verbal communication.

    Annotation:

     Constructivism is ‘an approach to learning that holds that people actively construct or make their own knowledge and that reality
    is determined by the experiences of the learner’ (Elliott et al., 2000, p. 256).
     In this activity, constructivism teaching philosopy was applied since the learners will construct their own essays about non-verbal
    communication and about the video that they have watched.

    V. Application

     The students will be divided into 4 groups


     Each group will choose a “non-verbal cue” that they need to act/express in a skit.

     Existentialism means that every individual is unique and education must cater to the individual differences. Therefore, the
    objective of education is to enable every individual to develop his unique qualities, to harness his potentialities and

     In this group activity, existentialism teaching philosophy was applied since the group members are the ones to choose their
    preferred “non-verbal cue” that they will use and execute in their skit.

     The teacher will be the one who will group the learners for fairness, and inform them that if all members cooperate with the skit,
    they will receive additional 5 points.

    Rubric
     Dialogue – 10%
     Effective used of non-verbal cue – 30%
     Totality of the skit – 10%

    Total Score: 50

    VI. Assignment

    Using the H-diagram below, which is a graphic organizer and a variation of Venn Diagram, you will compare and contrast the “non verbal
    communication” and “verbal communication”.

    Annotation:

     All the yellow highlighted parts of every component of the Lesson Plan were learner-centered since the students are the ones
    being asked by the teacher. This is done by facilitating and guiding them to respond to every question.
