The activity was cued by an audible alarm which lasted 20 seconds. The
teachers then get ready to perform the DUCK, COVER, and HOLD. The teachers
and learners hide under the tables, chairs and other accessible materials which they
could utilize to secure themselves against falling debris and any harmful falling
objects.

The final stage of the activity was to conduct an orientation about earthquake and
other related disasters. In this stage, everything was explained by the moderator
including the important materials to be brought in case they need to evaluate the
respective area. The simultaneous earthquake drill is performed in the school once
in every quarter of the school year.
Dalamas Integrated School committed to be equipped with the right and relevant
knowlege by engaging to several trainings conducted by Red Cross and Division
DRRM. These activities have given the participants knowledge and skills related to

Evidence from school-based first aid programs demonstrates that instruction may be
put into practice successfully, offering a setting for educating people on how to
lessen the severity of injuries and improve basic life support
Dalamas Integrated School conducted a first-aid training last January 24-26 at the
school conference room. The activity was attended by all teaching and admin staff of
the school. The attending participants received a training on knot-tying techniques,
CPR, bandaging and water rescue.
Art has been a part of human culture since the first people drew pictures on the cave
walls - a way of preserving our human experience and comprehending the world.
Children's artistic abilities help them progress in a variety of directions, fresh
perspectives, experiences, and difficulties.
The Red Cross Iligan Chapter organized a mural painting competition with the goal
of fostering the students' artistic abilities while having fun, and the students' stunning
and vivid mural paintings are the outcome. This healthy competition was held to
encourage the learners and teacher’s creativity a game to help them recognize their
expression and cultivate a sense of responsibility. Teachers and students from DIS
took part in the 8-day activity. The school placed 6th during the awarding of the
competition.
Vulnerability and capacity are two key ideas that everyone should take into
consideration when managing disaster risk and reducing risk. The Red Cross
illuminated these ideas for us when conducting a two-day adjusted VCA. The
objective is to increase the school's ability to respond to emergencies and disasters.
Teachers, administrative staff, parents, and other participants in the exercise shared
their thoughts and ideas, which led to the identification of the school's level of
vulnerability and its capacity to responds in the event of a disaster.
