This document outlines the course MAT5005 Advanced Mathematical Methods. The course consists of 45 total lecture hours over 8 modules covering topics such as eigenvalue problems, iteration problems, calculus of variations, systems of ordinary differential equations, partial differential equations, and the wave equation. Assessment includes digital assignments, continuous assessment tests, and a final assessment test. The course will be taught through classroom lectures introducing applications and including at least one guest lecture by an expert. Prerequisites are not required. The course was proposed by five professors and recommended by the Board of Studies on September 9, 2016.
