Direct Approach
The Direct Approach control system manages the lift position
within the shaft to give reduced waiting times, precise floor
levelling and unbeatable travel comfort.

Safety
Fully compliant with all major European Standards the
Envirange guarantees maximum safety for end users.

Open protocol - no maintenance company restriction

The GLE control system can be maintained by any competent
lift company, meaning end users are not restricted to a
particular maintenance supplier.

Flexibility
The featured range of lift cars is only a small insight into the
GLE range. We offer a full, bespoke design service for all our

Eco Mode - BREEAM® Credits
The GLE range boasts numerous energy efficient features
including a standby mode, LED lighting, gearless machines and
energy management systems.

Regenerative drives
The EcoSaver® energy management system feeds energy back

Altamira II
The Altamira II control system has been completely designed in house and can be installed on any type of
elevator, both traction or hydraulic.

Under a CAN BUS communication system, it can control groups of up to 8 lifts, 64 stops and speeds of 5 m/s.

Altamira II minimises the sensors and components required, making it possible to utilise space to the maximum. It
provides optimum travel comfort for the lift and reduces electrical consumption.

Easy and quick installation

Altamira II is supplied pre-assembled, pre-connected and pre-tested which simplifies installation and minimises any
margin of error.

Perfectly paired drive and motor matches the operation of Altamira II with the mechanics of every lift.

Installation times are reduced thanks to the almost complete elimination of traditional sensors and magnets.

Altamira II integrates software that allows a single person to perform a levelling operation in minutes and from
inside the lift car.

The control cabinet can be installed flexibly anywhere in the building up to a maximum distance of 20 metres from
the drive motor*.

Easy maintenance
A simple smart-phone or a laptop allows, without the need for cables or additional tools, rapid, easy and
user-friendly access to the control system to perform lift maintenance tasks. Our app provides access to
documentation, manuals and communication with our customer support department.

*There are versions where the control cabinet can be located more than 20 m from the drive motor. In each case, please check with us.

In the event of an unexpected anomaly, Altamira II will automatically proceed to correct it in a self-learning process
by recording the event for later analysis by the maintenance department without interrupting the lift service.
Our technical support department can provide remote support and real-time monitoring of lifts via telephone or
internet.

Remote monitoring
The remote monitoring system allows lifts installed in one or more buildings to be run from a control room or even
from our factory. This system is based on CAN Bus technology that allows monitoring of lifts, detection and reading
of faults in real time, control of groups of lifts, analysis of equipment performance and many other functions.

Open Protocol
All our wiring looms, trailing cables and shaft connections are pre-wired, numbered and labelled to save time and
money during the installation process. To be maintained by any competent lift company.

The whole control is open protocol and can be easily accessed from a laptop or via WIFI through a smart phone.

Direct Approach System

The Direct Approach System –included for the first time as standard across GLE’s entire MRL traction range– allows
the control system to calculate the optimum lift travel speed curve according to the distance remaining to the
selected destination. This eliminates the delays typical of previous systems as the lift car approaches landings, and
represents a major step forward in passenger comfort and technical specification.

The Direct Approach System and location more straightforward for the lift professional
• The control system can pinpoint the exact position of the lift car in real time, using a single encoder fitted to the
drive unit. Maximum simplicity delivering optimum performance.
• This straightforward solution eliminates the need for the secondary devices usually deployed to control lift car
position, saving on installation and start-up times.
• The number of sensors and signal processors in the lift shaft is therefore lower than in conventional lift systems,
further reducing installation time - and costs.
• The likelihood of failures caused by magnetic sensor deterioration and by positioning changes producing false
readings is also significantly reduced.
• The start-up procedure is faster than for conventional lift systems without the Direct Approach System.
• The final car-levelling adjustment procedures are simply carried out using the car display panel.
• Shorter-than-usual travel distances between floors do not interfere with travel quality and efficiency.

 Direct approach
The lift approaches the floor with no intermediate speeds, stopping gently at floor level. The position of the car is calculated at all
times without the need for magnets.
 Limited call registration
Vandal proof function, which resets operation after a number of call requests have been registered in the COP.
8 Anti-creep device
When a lift normally transports heavy objects, the use of anti-creep devices prevents movement of the car during the loading or
unloading.
8 Homing
The car returns to a designated floor, if it’s below it or when there are no more new or pending calls. You can set any floor as the
return floor.
8 EN81-73 Fire control
In the event of a fire, a control is activated that sends the lift to the fire emergency floor. If the lift is going away from the fire
emergency floor, it will stop at the first possible stop and without opening the doors, it will return to the fire emergency floor. If
the lift is going in the direction of the fire emergency floor, it will not stop until it arrives at that floor.
8 EN81-72 Fire fighting control
Priority recall for the fire fighting lift and fire service communication system. Also available for Australia.
8 Non-stop at floors with fire
Prevents the lift from stopping at a floor where fire has been detected. If this signal is activated when the lift has stopped at this
floor, the car stays with the doors closed and then travels to a different floor.
8 Evacuation control BS 9999
Includes autodiallers at each landing.
8 Out of service
Allows the lift to be left out of service, either at a particular stop or the main floor.
8 Technician control
Control via key switch on landing.
8 Car preference
When activated, the lift will only answer calls registered from the car operating panel, ignoring landing calls.
8 Full load signal
The lift does not answer any landing calls if it is 80% loaded.
8 Car light timer
Allows you to set the time limit after which the car light switches off.

A group of up to 8 lifts can be controlled, even if they serve a different number of floors.
8 Limited number of stops before out of service
Parameter to configure the number of faults detected in the doors before putting a lift out of service. When this happens, other
lifts of the system will answer the landing calls.
8 Peak traffic control system
Identifies a time period in which high passenger traffic from a certain floor has been registered, in order to reduce waiting times.
