When the clients (slaves) have been installed, you can open the master 3logger and from here
click "Slave status".
Here all slaves will be visible and green which mean active. The text in the log is the last known
registered log. If a slave has a red dot, meaning the master cant communicate, then the last log
will tell what is wrong.
When will be discovered?
When printed to a local printer the slave will track the print and send it to the master which then
uploads it on a scheduled basis to the 3manager account.
Many organisations use the print job tracker for either local printing tracking or tracking user
printing.
The following will be tracked:
Name of USB printer
Computer its attached to
Print jobs sent in details + in summarised numbers
Username
Applications used
Print job name
Print job size (pages/size in file size)
Important:
Local printers are not possible to include in supplies management. No supplies are tracked
on local printers
Only print volume starting from discovery date is possible to register (as long as the print
job tracker is running). Lifecounts are not supported.
Track user print only
If you are not interested in the local printers, you do not need to install it on all computers. Simply
install the slave on the print server(s)
