The Maharashtra National Law Univer-

sity, Nagpur takes pride in presenting to
you the first edition of National Moot Court
Competition, 1st MNLU, Nagpur National Moot Court
Competition, 2022 (MNLUN-NMCC). The competition shall seek the partici-
pation of various teams from different law schools all across the nation.

The theme of the Competition is an intersection between Constitutional Law and

Technology law, which was chosen with an intention to stimulate discussion about
the emerging area of law. The problem concerns regulation of OTT platforms and
jurisdiction of Supreme Court and the High Courts regarding conflict between free
speech and state’s interference with the regulation of the content created and being
shared on such platforms. The problem concerns with Constitution of India, Informa-
tion Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules 2021
and Cinematograph Act 1952.

It is my privilege to announce the first edition of
the MNLU, Nagpur-National Moot Court Compe-
tition, 2022. MNLU Nagpur has committed itself
towards providing a congenial environment for
growth and development of students.

Mooting is an integral part of the law school expe-

rience and cannot be equated to any other com-
petition. It enhances essential advocacy skills
such as drafting, researching, and communica-
tion.

We not only encourage our students to put their

minds to test but also foster them to create a sim-
ilar environment for students across the country.
This year in the first edition of the MNLUN Nation-
al Moot Court Competition, 2022 the focus is on
Technology Law. The previous decades have
experienced a boom in newer kinds of technolo-
gies, be it Data Protection, Artificial Intelligence,
or Data Mining and with it has created scope for
interpretation of its nature, related rights and
duties and more. MNLUN aims to tap into the
potential afforded by Law and Technology along-

Court Competition, 2022 aims to provide a plat-
MESSAGE form and an opportunity to the future generation
of lawyers to improve both their written and oral
advocacy skills in this competitive field of law. The
National Moot Court Competition, 2022 has a
holistic structure that provides the participants
with valuable training, experience, and feedback

while at the same time acquainting them with
the practical experience of courtroom proceed-

ings. The university has committed itself to the
growth of the students and legal education in the
country. It shall continue on this endeavor to put
