Instructions: For the following, Choose the statement/s that apply to

you by putting a ✓ mark on the space provided. Check as many as

applicable.

✓ 1. I always make it a point to be updated with current news.

Instructions: Kindly review the items you checked in Exercise


7.1.1A and answer the following questions:

1. Do you feel you have a voice in the society? Why or why


not.
- Yes, because as a college student like me, I have the right to
address all my opinions and talk freely about any topics that have
concerns. Our voices are important because it can help making change
in issues that are needed to be resolve.

2. In your opinion, can an adolescent initiate change in the


society? Why or why not?
- Yes, because they have their own voice in society. It is part
of growing up to know what society is. Just because you are not
in the right of age doesn’t mean that you are not capable to create
change in the society.

3. Do you feel optimistic or pessimistic about the future of the


country? Why?
- I feel optimistic in the future of the country because I expect
more changes that the current president has to offer, we know that
the current politicians are not conditioned to lead the country but i
hope that the country will rise again.

4. Do you feel optimistic or pessimistic about being a Filipino?


Why?
- As a Filipino I am pessimistic because of other fellow Filipinos,
Its not like that I hate the country, but I hate the toxic traits of the
Filipinos are showing to other fellow folks.

EXERCISE 7.1.2 My Advocacy

Instructions: Choose a particular or societal issue that you


feel strongly about. Write down the nature of that issue in the box
below and answer the questions

DEPRESSION

- a disorder of mood, also called “affective disorder” which


means disturbance of emotions or feelings. If not taken
seriously it can cause death.

1. Why do you feel strongly about this issue? Explain.


- Because many people have suffered in this mental
disorder they become extremely sad about certain things
or problems that they cannot solve. Like

2. What can you do as an individual to address this issue?


Describe and explain.
- As an individual I can address this kind of issue by creating
a campaign that talks about bullying. Another way to address
this kind of improper behavior is to discipline the one who
engage this sort of improper action.

3. Are you happy being a Filipino? Explain.


- Yes, when we are talking about our nationality but I am not happy
being a Filipino because of the government. Our country is suffering
in all the debts we have in other countries. Many people suffered poverty
when COVID-19 strikes and the government didn’t address the problem but they
most likely cause the problem by spending all the money that all the people
should be having right now.

1. How does social media and technology tools influence your


daily life as a student and as a member of your family?
- As a student social media and technology is an essential part
in my life, because in this pandemic you need to be more resourceful
and flexible, I can learn while at home using technology and in social
media I can stay updated in school works and news.

2. If you were completely avoid the most frequently used social


media in your life, how would you feel? What would be its
effects on your life?
- I will feel happy and not concerned about things in social media.
I will feel the true freedom and become a sociable person. Social
media has some advantage and disadvantage. The good side is that
I can catch up to what’s going on and the disadvantage is that
Using social media can cause poor time management.

technology tool in your life, how would you feel? What would
- Without the cellphone my life would be much harder because
on this day we rely more on technology in our daily life, I would
become much a better person without cellphone but the downside
is that its way too time consuming to accomplish tasks.

4. How do you foresee the future of technology in your life?


What role would technology play in that future?
- Regarding the rate of technological improvement, I think that the
devices I used will be more advanced in this current day. Maybe
in the future our daily life is dependent online like robots.
