UNIT 8 ACTIVITY
A Plan to Practice
In this unit you’ve learned about many of the different types of healthcare careers that you have to choose from as
you further your education.
Using this new information, and with independent research, you are now asked to gather data about a career that
you are interested in. You are going to develop a hypothesis: a prediction about what you think is required of
people who work in this field in terms of education, qualities, the scope of practice and duties of the profession,
and what salary they may earn. Then with the information you collect about the career you’ve chosen, you are
going to present a report on the similarities between your findings and your hypothesis.
You will identify the most appropriate method of data collection for your project. You will use observation, review of
print information, a focus group, interviews, or questionnaires. You can present your findings in a slideshow
presentation online using programs like PowerPoint, in a verbal presentation that you videotape, or even a
podcast. You will also submit a written summary of your findings. The written file will be submitted through the
assignment Dropbox.
