GRAPHICS LESSON PLAN

Student Name: Grainne McLaughlin

ID: G00388874

Subject: Graphics Topic(s): Conic Section 2

Pupil Year Group: 2nd year No. of Pupils: 10
Lesson Number: 10 Length of lesson: 40 mins
Date: 1/02/2023 Time of Lesson: 10.15

1. PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OSERVATIONS

Previous Knowledge

Students have covered ellipses before and have a good grasp at drawing they faster and accurately.
Students have started the topic conic section 2 this week and have the basic knowledge what it is about
and how to achieve the steps involved. But the knowledge needs to be recapped over and over again
for them to understand.

Teacher Observations

In the class there a couple of students most of the students are understanding the topic and what it is
about. Students have been moved to different seat due to chatting and misbehaving in the class.
Students need lot of motivation to work.

2. LESSON RATIONALE

Brief outline of WHY this content is the basis of the lesson, and why these teaching KEY
methodologies were selected- a justification. *

The main aim of this lesson is to get students to achieve and know all the steps involved with RL
finding the two focal points. As the students follow these questions the harder it gets and
more challenging for them.
Using the visualizer to present power point the students can see the steps involved and how it
is drawn on a sheet of paper and getting the students state the steps after each other before
following along. This shows me who knows the topic and who doesn’t understand it.
