pictures, marker, manila paper, video

PROCEDURES: Materials
1. ENGAGE ( 10 minutes)
Drill Activity 1. Group the pupils into 4 groups. Each group will touch
and describe objects they see inside the box. They will touch as Laptop, TV
many objects they can with the allotted time. As the timer stops,
each group finish or unfinished must go back to their seat.
The most behaved group will receive an awards.
Activity 2. Ask the following questions:
What objects are soft, hard, rough & smooth?
What are the different textures of solid?

Review: Solid based on their size.

2. EXPLORE (15 minutes)


Group Activity: Divide the class into small groups.
 Group 1- “I check it” Pen, paper tape and
Mark check to the objects that describe their texture hard carlotina
 Group 2- “I group it”
Name the objects inside the box.
Group the pictures base on their texture. (hard & soft)
Paste it to your group activity board.
 Group 3- “I write it”
Write the correct textures of each object. (rough & smooth)
Write your answer in your group activity.

 Group 4- “I Sing It”

3. EXPLAIN (10 minutes)

 Post some pictures of solid based on texture. Laptop and TV/cartolina


 Ask the following questions:
* Which pictures show smooth & rough?
*.Which pictures show soft & hard?
(Note: The teacher may use PowerPoint if possible.)
4. ELABORATE (10 minutes)
Ask these questions:
*What are the different characteristics of solid base on textures? Laptop and TV/cartolina
(Answer: Hard, soft, smooth & roung)
*How will you group the solid?
Answer: We grouped based on their texture?
Name them say each textures?
(Soft: cotton, marshmallow, pillow Hard: wood,
chair, rock. Smooth: mirror, glass & tiles rough: durian,
sand paper & trunk of tree. )
* How do we describe the solid based on their texture?
(answer: By touching & feeling them, we are able to describe the texture of
solids such as rough or smooth, hard or soft)

Values Formation:
Proper caring for different types of solid.

5. EVALUATE (_5_minutes)

 Show a short video clip presentation about the ways of taking care the Laptop, speaker
eyes.
 Ask the following questions:
Is sleeping late at night good for the eyes? Why?
Is watching the sun at exactly 12:00 noon good for the eyes? Why?

2. EXPLORE (15 minutes)


Group Activity:
 Group 1- Draw the objects/things harmful for the eyes Bond paper, crayons,
 Group 2- Draw the foods good for the eyes glue
 Group 3- Arrange the cut-out picture
 Group 4- List some ways of taking care of our eyes

3. EXPLAIN (10 minutes)

 Post some pictures that show healthful habits for the eyes. Laptop and

-Which pictures do not show proper ways of caring for the eyes?
-Why do we have to avoid these practices?
-Which pictures show the proper ways of caring for the eyes?
-Why are these practices good to do?

What are the ways of taking care of our eyes?
Why do we need to take care of our eyes?
