COUNTRY MANAGER

THE COMPANY
The Jaspal Group is a privately-owned business comprising fashion, property, and
homeware businesses, with head offices in Bangkok Thailand, and operating more than 550
stores across 5 countries (Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia and India).

THE BUSINESS UNIT

JPS Fashions (Vietnam) manages a portfolio of five fashion brands (LYN, LYN AROUND, JELLY
BUNNY, SUPERDRY AND FRED PERRY). The business unit operates its own design team,
sourcing and development, buying, planning, marketing and store operation teams. It shares
services with Jaspal Group on Finance, Distribution, Import & Export, HR, Legal and IT.

THE COUNTRY MANAGER ROLE


To give Jaspal Group an overview of the opportunities and challenges of expanding Jaspal
fashion brands (Lyn, Lyn Around, Jelly Bunny, Superdry, Fred Perry) into the Vietnam
market. To produce an example business plan based on your recommendations. The
Country Manager is responsible for planning and delivering the sales and profitability of the
offline business. This will be the key person representing for the Vietnam business and will
need to push all functions teams to ensure commercial, marketing, sourcing teams are
contributing to growth of Vietnam sales. The Country Manager will need to ensure we have
clear guidelines appropriate to each brand for selected channel execution and service, and
competent motivated staff to deliver.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
STRATEGIC ASSESSMENT

- Understand who are key players/competitors and relevant customer profiles to


perform short and long terms sales & marketing strategies i.e.
o Specify product range and price, marketing intelligence activities
- Identify potential business models available in the region i.e. Franchise, wholesales,
direct operations etc.
- Monitor and seek potential sales channels to expand JPS Vietnam business
opportunities to acquire relevant customer markets - online, offline, departments
store, wholesale, monobrand etc.
- Define and assess on the typical rent and realistic sales/sqm (non-discount period)
for targeted mall
LEADING AND DELIVERY OF SALES

- Responsible and drive the sales performance of JPS Vietnam business to ensure that
ambitious sales volumes and targets are achieved
- Plan and review store-cost lines within JPS Vietnam P&L and find new ways to
improve profitability.
- Manage the store staff incentives to maximizes sales and profitability, with
consideration of different types of activities (target-based incentives, product or
event specific incentives, inter-store competition) to motivate and energize staff.
- Participate in IBU Sales Budget
- Participate in IBU OTB plan by seasonal with relevant stakeholders
- Participate in signing-off IBU Product Group Level OTB with relevant stakeholders
- Work closely with TH brand teams (commercial, marketing, sourcing) to identify and
follow up on all new opportunities or problems that arise during the season.
- Work with IBU HR teams to define and deliver the store SOP, follow up and measure
performance against this standard.
- Visit stores and train store managers in checking store standard, coaching,
motivating or disciplining staff, and ensure there is a clear process to follow up next
steps.
- Ensure an execution of VM plans and display are properly followed to the VM
guideline.
- Ensure team members have clear understanding of their performances, and
opportunities to improve. Proactively address performance issues and provide
coaching and development opportunities to high potential staff.

EXPANSION PLANNING AND EXECUTION

- Work with Store Development Director to ensure that unprofitable stores have a
plan of action, that will result either in closure of in stores reaching profitability
within an appropriate time agreed with Group Operation Director, Sales &
Operations Director - IBU and CBO.
- Collaborate with Store Development Director to build and maintain networking with
local landlords on behalf of JPS Vietnam
- Trial and expand new sales channels within JPS Vietnam that can complement offline
selling. This includes but is not limited to
o Personal shopper and livestream selling
o Chat and Shop, and social selling
o Integration of online and offline to an Omnichannel customer experience.
OTHER LEDAERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as lead for JPS Vietnam in any event interruptions of our trade – eg unexpected
store closures or lockdowns. Work with cross functional (HR, Finance, IT) to ensure
compliance with group plans, and devise alternative ways to sell.
- Lead or collaborate in cross functional change projects as assigned by
Group Operations Director or CBO.
- Act as senior liason point for all cross functional projects impacting JPS Vietnam
operations

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

- 10+ year of experience Retail business in Vietnam, preferably in fashion business.


- Fluent in English and local language is preferable
- Proven track record managing a P&L and leading a large team with many stores
- Strong change management and cross functional skills
- Able to build strong network and relationship with stakeholders
- Resilient, Dynamic, flexible and fast-paced mindset
- Experience managing a large portfolio of brands
- Excellent organizational, time management and leadership skills
- Analytical & Strategic thinking
