The American colonial authorities saw the cooperation of the Philippine elites as essential for
maintaining order and stability in the country. They believed that the elites, with their education, wealth, and
social status, could help to ensure that the population remained peaceful and obedient. They believed that the
elites could help to carry out administrative tasks, such as collecting taxes, maintaining the peace, and
implementing reforms. They believed that the elites could help to facilitate the exploitation of the country 's
resources, such as minerals, land, and labor, for the benefit of the new colonial regime. In conclusion, the
Americans needed the cooperation of the Philippine elites in order to maintain order, implement policies, gain
legitimacy, and access resources.

The elites in the Philippines immediately cooperated with the American colonial authorities for a
variety of reasons. The elites were aware of the brutal tactics used by the American military during the
Philippine - American War, and many feared that they would face punishment if they did not cooperate with
the new colonial authorities. They feared that the new government would seize their lands or dismantle the
political and social structures that favored their class. In conclusion, the Philippine elites immediately
cooperated with the American colonial authorities out of fear, protection of their interests, access to education
and opportunities, and the desire to exert influence and maintain power.

No , the Filipinos did not stop fighting after the capture of Emilio Aguinaldo in 1901. While the capture
of Aguinaldo was a major setback for the Philippine revolutionary forces, it did not mark the end of the
Philippine - American War. After the capture of Aguinaldo, resistance to American rule continued in various
forms, including guerrilla warfare, uprisings, and organized rebellions . The fighting was characterized by a
series of small skirmishes and engagements , rather than large - scale battles , and was often brutal, with both
sides committing atrocities.

Philippine-American War, war between the United States and Filipino revolutionaries from 1899 to
1902, an insurrection that may be seen as a continuation of the Philippine Revolution against Spanish rule.
It began after the United States assumed sovereignty of the Philippines following the defeat of Spain in the
Spanish-American War. Although an end to the insurrection was declared in 1902, sporadic fighting
continued for several years thereafter.

 Honesty
A good leader advocates truth and integrity. He conserves the trust and confidence given to him by the
people. And of course, he doesn’t steal the funds of the nation.

 Exhibit Humility
Humble leaders are not likely to take credit for others' work. They put the needs of the people before
their own, and they are strong advocates for what the people need. By focusing more on others than themselves,
humble leaders gain the trust of followers and help them develop and grow beyond what they may have
thought possible.

 Commitment
An effective leader of the government is resolute in realizing his great visions and dreams for the
country.

 Love
An effective leader has a selfless love for his people and country. All of these qualities are difficult to
practice, but because of his love, he’ll do his best to practice them all.
