    A Phenomenological Inquiry of lived experiences of pioneer Senior High School Graduates


    under General Academic Strand (GAS): Influence on Career Decision Making

    INTRODUCTION
    The study showed individual description of experiences. It showcased the different

    manner of the curriculum impact of the lives of the pioneer graduates.

    Most of the strands are specific to career but the General Academic Strand(GAS) is the

    best for those whol still haven’t decided what they’re gonna choose. General Academic

    Strand(GAS) is the strand in Senior High School implemented for those studentswho aim

    in involving in more general areas of study comparing to more specific fields of study. It

    is a versatie within one strand to a lot of different opportunities and challenges. This

    gives students the more opportunity to explore their views and options and given them a

    good mix of subjects so they can make a more informed decision when it comes to

    choosing an ungraduate degree in the future

    This study gives us more information about what General Academic Strand is, and it

    helps our research to identify what is the best course to those students who still undecided

    Samson, et al, (2020)


    Factors affecting decision in choosing college course of selected grade 12 general

    academic strand students of bestlink college of the Philippines


    Senior high school is for college preparation and aims to enhance the skills of the student.

    Grade 12 students encounter more challenges that will have them to be ready in the

    future. The course is the field that students have chosen. Often, a student is the one

    responsible for deciding about their college course. There are instances that parents are

    the ones deciding the college course for their children. Quantitative-descriptive, which

    was used here, is a method that attempt to collect quantifiable information to be used for

    statistics analysis of the population sample used to determine the relationship between

    one thing and another in a population. The computed weighted means for male and

    female participants in terms of parents’choice,peer influence, and financial aspect were

    3.33 and 3,27, both of which of had the verbal interpretation of agree. Based on the

    findings of the study and conclusions that were drawn, the following recommendations

    were drawn. A parent shoud know the suitable course for their child so they explain

    properly and they need to know what the passion of their children is. Parents should

    introduce the courses accurately and precisely to prevent the students to have a false

    impression of the course. Students should be practical and get scholarship to have

    discounts for some school fee, such as miscellaneous and tuition fees. Students should

    also take the course that their family can afford and take an in-demand course to easily

    find a job

    This study helps our research to know the challenges that encountered by GAS students

    and the factors that affect them because they choose General Academic Strand
