PROMOTING UNITY PEACE AND LOVE AS A YOUTH
A wonderful day to everyone I am Naimodin Mabaning. Your speaker for this
spectacular day. First I would like to express my my full gratitude for giving me this opportunity. It's a great honor. Hello fellow students. I hope you are having a great day and a great life. "Do what you can, with what you have, where you are" Theodore Roosevelt once said and I deeply sympathize with that. The world works in mysterious ways they say but it does not just work like that. The world is cruel and difficult. Often of the times we face challenges and struggles and sometimes we lose. When we encounter these kind of situations a lot of people says "it's okay, that will only make you stronger". For me that's a lie these happenings does not make us stronger it makes us vulnerable and because of that we build our own shields in order to overcome it. Life is hard even though most people say that Life's fair but it's not someone will always be higher than us but those hardships are not a stop sign that will stop you from doing what you want. A lot of awful things will happen but your experience will either make you more alive or kill you if we have the first one then why do latter? Life is an adventure and pain does make us weak but like we always say "no pain no gain". I am from a huge family I am the third eldest out of fifteen siblings. Yes we are 15 siblings in total, now you can already see how hard it must be for me to actually live. I matured way to early because I have to take care of my younger siblings. At the age of 16 I have to move out from our home and live here in Batangas because I can make a lot more money here than in Salvador a barangay from Mindanao. You might wonder by now "why am I telling you these things about myself?" Well because my goal is to promote "UNITY, PEACE, AND LOVE" as a youth despite the struggle and hardships that we encounter in life specially as a student. If we want peace and unity, we have to build a repertoire where respect always goes first. I have this one value in my life that even up until I die I will always stand by it."WE DON'T IMPOSE RESPECT WE EARN IT" I REPEAT "WE DON'T IMPOSE RESPECT WE EARN IT". We don't force respect so it doesn't matter if someone is on a higher rank than you or someone is older than you or has more money than you. It just doesn't matter. If they disrespect you never bow down. Do not let it go through you. If they disrespect you regardless of where they stand as a person you disrespect them back because if you let them step on you, degrade you just like that then you are the one holding the knife stabbing yourself. If you let people do that to you then you are disrespecting yourself too. This is why we have a lot of misunderstanding. It's because a lot of people don't know the depth of respect that we should show to each other. Respect isn't just about po and opo saying excuse me it's actually more about just minding your own business. If it doesn't concern your life then why bother? why exhaust yourself with other people's life? It's basic human decency that we should not put our noses with other's businesses. We live in a very judgemental place where one act of unkindness and we will be deemed as a very bad person. It's madness isn't? We ask for love and order but most of the times our words doesn't match up with our actions. Hypocrisy at it's finest. We shout for equality but we don't show how we should do it. Now that I shared the importance of respect is it related to you? as students. We are embarking a journey in this life that we are trying to survive so it's important for us to know that even now as one of the young we can be a great model to show a lot of people how to show respect in order to have a peaceful life in the world we live in. Even if we are still young we are now becoming a leader. A lead that will help a lot of people shape not only the community they live in but also their lives and the world. RESPECT IS THE FOUNDATION OF UNITY IF ONE KNOWS HOW TO RESPECT THEN EVERY CONFLICT WILL BE RESOLVED WITH NO HARM. SO WHY PROMOTE UNITY? The word unity is a five-letter word but has a huge meaning that we all should know. People need unity to survive. Without it, it's not just our lives but the whole world will be in chaos. We should always help and support other people who need help and we should always stand together in every situation. Unity is something that makes the weaker one strong. It represents togetherness and being there for each other like we all are one. Therefore, in unity, everyone stands together for every big and small problem.“Without unity, there is no peace, only bitterness and fury” it's what Joe Biden said in his inauguration. That is why we need unity because it is the root of Peace. Peace is what keeps our lives and the world at a stable state. So it's essential in human lives. How do we obtain Peace now that we know that the foundation of Unity is respect and the root of Peace is Unity. It's all connected if we know how to respect we bring unity if unity is shown then peace is obtain with peace comes Love. Love the most complex to explain. But one thing I can assure you that Love isn't a service you give for others. Loving a partner or our parents and friends. You will begin to understand Love if it begins within yourself. "Love yourself" as what Kim Namjoon always say. Now how do we do that? How to begin to love ourselves. It begins when you know how to respect. We're back at the beginning again. Isn't amazing? Everything is connected "BEGINS WITH LOVE KNOWING RESPECT WHICH IS THE FOUNDATION OF UNITY THAT IS THE ROOT OF PEACE AND COMES BACK AGAIN WITH LOVE BECAUSE PEACE COMES WITH IT." We often look at love like it's a luxury that is hard to afford but it is not. The moment you start breathing even before when you are still an embryo inside you Mom's tummy you are already loved. I want all of you to comfort yourselves and say I love myself. Our community, our world it's not perfect it's far from it. We see a lot of bad things so How do we change this? This upsetting culture? There is a way and it starts with you. Spreading love, peace, and unity in the world in your own way can really make a difference in the world and make it a more positive place to live in. It doesn’t have to be too great or too big, it can be as small as expressing gratitude to your friends and family, or helping out a stranger whenever they need a helping hand. There are so many other ways to spread love, peace, and unity. The best thing about it is that you can do it from anywhere in the world and you'll feel absolutely amazing after you do it. Rather than thinking about the negative things that are going on in the world, make a positive impact in the world you live in by embracing and spreading love, peace and unity to others. If we can all come together and do our small part each day in spreading love, peace, and unity. We can make the world a positive place for all of us to enjoy without any fear or sadness.I believe the youth "only the young" as what Taylor Swift's say "only the young can run and change the world" It's been changing as we see now. The youth now knows how to voice out the truth and knows how to stand up for their selves. It's a great pride to be one of it. I am happy to tell you that the world can change if us the youth continue to break inappropriate norms, continue to support and fight for human rights and continue to show the world how us the youth can shape the world to be better place. We can only promote "UNITY, PEACE, AND LOVE" if the world allow the youth to share and show how they can contribute to it, as one of the young I encourage all of you to let it all out but do it respectfully. Do not let the world silence us like they used to. As what our mighty hero Jose Rizal said "ANG KABATAAN ANG PAG ASA NG BAYAN". We have the power to change world. As a student in our young age, we can be a great representation so let's brace ourselves and act right. Let's not be scared of the world use our fears and turn it into strength. We as the youth can make a world where "UNITY, PEACE AND LOVE IS ACHIEVED. SMILE, SPEAK YOURSELF AND MAKE HISTORY."
